I pay my fees through pay pal. Ebay sends me a receipt stating $ received yet takes them forever (more than 30 min tonight) to post which ended up making me not be able to list items in time tonight. That sure is a long time , especially when they send notification it's been received. I'd like to bring the their attention. How should I go about that?

thanks

Maybe you should pay your fees on time.

You could even pay for some in advance to avoid the restrictions.

dado,
thats not her point, her point is that ebay takes too long (30 minutes) to post her payment to her ebay account.
you can register your credit card instead .

yes thanks. I AM paying on time, they just take a really long time to post to my ebay account. I pay as it's reaches the $25. Not a big deal but I guess I have to prepay hours in advance. Just thought that was odd to take so long is all.

I know what her point was!

Just when I use the debit card it always shows instantly!

It could be if her acct. was put on hold, it may take time to reopen!

The bigger point is, 1/2 hour. Come on. What if the person in charge of confirming the payment has 200 to do before hers. Or what if something happened in which it would have to wait a day. I am not much of a fan of the big E, but in this case I would have to take their side.

My question is...why must you wait until a $25 payment posts for you to be able list? Has ebay placed a $25 limit on your account or is this just a personal nuerosis?

yes, there is a $25 limit. I dont' know until my vendio auctions posts how much my account reaches. I realize I can prepay hundreds in advance but I dont' have those funds on hand. I'll just have to prepay I guess.

thanks

PS they are automated but still, you'd think it'd be quicker than that. thanks

What did you do wrong that your spending limit is $25

Did not do anything wrong? That is the limit. Is it different for others? I've seen other ebay members state that also.

It has always been that way for unsecured accounts. In fact, as well as I remember the limit was $15.00 when I first started selling on Ebay. They will "loan" you $25.00 in order to allow a new seller to get their feet wet. Once the $25.00 limit is reached, your ability to list is restricted until you pay them. It's irritating enough that it inspires most new sellers to post a credit or debit card or subscribe to the direct pay option to avoid the hassle and inconvenience that the OP has just described.

Sprakz - since you have to list both a credit card and a bank account to sell, how does one have an "unsecured" account? Or is this one of those things left over from the early days o ebay. I seem to rememeber having that issue when I first signed up but I think the first time I couldn't list until a payment posted I gave them all the info they needed to not have to deal with that issue again.

Fenix...We're dating ourselves. I did exactly the same thing. I hit the limit one time and posted my credit card so I wouldn't have to worry about getting shut down during a hot streak. In theory, I could still be operating under that system without having to post a credit card. I have never posted my checking account info with ebay. Apparently Happy4123 has been on Ebay for quite awhile and is grandfathered in under the old rules. Things were much simpler (and more profitable) back then.

More profitable is right. I remember buying action figures from KayBee the going home and listing them and getting twice what I was paying.... dem was de days.......

Just think, in few more years there will be a generation of us rocking on the porch with grandchildren at our feet talking about the "Good Ole Days" on eBay.
