This is not really eBay related, but you guys often have some good answers.
All of my e-mails today to a friend at aol are being bounced back undeliverable with the following message:
Action: failed
Status: 5.0.0
Diagnostic-Code: smtp;500 SYNTAX ERROR, COMMAND UNRECOGNIZED
LINE BY ITSELF
ELP
hich
I use hotmail, I am receiving all their e-mails just fine. We e-mail several times daily with no problems of any kind the past month. I'm in Canada, they are in U.S.
My friend is receiving other e-mails fine, though they were expecting some other e-mails from Canada, and have not received them either.
All e-mail addresses are being entered correctly.
Kind of frustrating at this end, any ideas what could be the cause of this?

I would call MSN & ask them what the problem is. Have you sent emails to any one else? It may be in the server for hotmail.

IT may be an AOL problem, just now I tried to send an email from aol to the internet and got a message from aol that email service to the internet was not available at the moment. Maybe just try again later tonight

I just sent a test message from my AOL account to my Yahoo account and vice versa. No problem either direction.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Upriver, what service is your friend using to access their emails? Also, what software are they using to view their emails (Sorry to sound like a tech but I am and just got off work- very tired)

Do you have a different email address than Yahoo? If so try that email address. Could be AOL has a spam filter that filters out Yahoo, or maybe something in your title triggers the spam. Good Luck

My ISP filters first. When I talked with them they said that some days I have over 200 emails that I don't get than I get the rest. My filter doesn't delete anything. I depend on my ISP for most everything and they do pretty good. I get about 10 or so that sneak through and I delete them without reading. The subject has to be something that I know otherwise it's gone...

It seems that anytime I have a NPB that bidder has an AOL email address (fortunately, there hasn't been many). I'm filing a NPBA alert this afternoon for an AOL member. Shame that this bidder is a brand new Ebayer. But, he/she screwed me out of $65.
I'm wondering what kind of filters AOL uses? This happens even when I send through Ebay. I almost dread having a winning bidder who uses AOL.
AOL sucks and I'm glad I got rid of them! Too bad you can't leave messages on Ebay for the bidders to pick up that aren't getting your emails for one reason or another.
