..disguised as Microsoft alerts (spoofs) about secutrity patches.

I know this isn't ebay related, but they are coming through on my e-mail that is used for ebay and my website.

Anyone else getting these?

Yep, the 'Microsoft Patches' and the infamous 'Undeliverable' mail to some off the wall email address, with attachments. Tons.

And a very unprofessional looking popup wanting me to download some very nefarious looking software from my own consignment website. I have that website on a small local ISP with no ads. Think it got there from the free counter I used, so I uninstalled it. No idea, but just looking at it you knew it was a mistake to download. Each link had something "blahblahblah.exe" when you hovered your mouse over it as well.

Near - From my understanding, if you are getting the Undeliveral mails then your system is still harboring the sobig virus. It hijacks your system and incoprporates it into it's evil virus spreading spam plan.

Hi fenix
I don't think so. I keep the anti virus, and just updated it today... these emails want me to open an attachment, with the 'guise' of 'Undeliverable email' some even have weird subjects

like

Undelivered mail to [email protected]

Undeliverable message [email protected]

Undeliverable to [email protected]

Undelivered mail to [email protected]

and on and on, all popping up an attachment to save or download... they always are right after the 'Microsoft Security Patch' I get maybe 20 a day...

Watch out for that attachment that looks like it is from MS...hitting yes or no will give you the virus

I get the same emails constantly. It's starting to really, really annoy me. At first I was just annoyed. Then I was really annoyed. Now I am really, really annoyed. And, still not stupid enough to open the attachments!

EVERYONE PAY ATTENTION!! Every morning, go to www.microsoft windows update & check if there any new patches. Also, check your firewall & antivirus regularly. I haven't had a worm or virus since installed my Norton Security system 2 years ago, & I have from 10 to 30 emails every day

The number of virus, worm and spoof emails has increased to the point that I have enabled brightmail and am screening everything before it is downloaded to my inbox. What comes through is screened again using Norton.
