Hi,

You guys have been a big help in the past, so I thought I could test you all again.

Right now in my auctions, I have added in a Manual PayPal Button (I put it in just to show that PayPal is accepted, it's not an actual "Pay Now" Button). When clicked, it just takes you to a Sign-In/Register page for PayPal. It does not take you to paying for that particular item.

Before I go further, I do not accept Credit/Debit Card payments as I have a personal account.

Is there a way to add in the clickable pay-now PayPal Button without it taking a CC payment? Which if they try to pay with a card is no biggie because I can just deny the payment. On most of my auctions, I do not list the shipping, as it is quite variable. I do list my zip code, shipping weight, and insurance is optional (up to the buyer).

My 2nd question is: how would you make it so that they will be able to change the shipping and add in the insurance if they would like? I ship generally Priority or Parcel Post.

I don't know if I have to go and do preference checking in PayPal and in Vendio and with eBay??? And which preferences with give me what I'm really trying to do.

OK, now I'm confused as to if I'm asking the appropriate questions to get what I'm looking for.

Thanks in advance,
Brenda

You know Mag, if you can't be helpful and offer a solution to the posted question, why be a jerk? Doesn't help me and it sure doesn't make you look too swift!

Don't let the turkeys get you down. They used to come after me because I use a Personal account for my auctions...until I pointed out that not only does PayPal allow the use of Personal accounts for eBay auctions, with no limits on payment amounts, they even encourage it.

So hang in there.

Here's a link to the manual button page:

https://www.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_auction-manual

It looks like you could use the "Standard Logo" but you will have to modify the HTML to remove this phrase:

" with any major credit card"

You'll have to manually insert it into the Description text box of each new auction.

Fluffy,

Thanks for the info, but...I already put in the Manual Button and already have the phrase edited out.

What I was asking, is if there is a Pay Now button and what do I have to do to use it?

You know, a PayPal Button in the auction that winning bidders can click and it goes right to my auction that they won...but how do I get shipping $'s/Insurance into the equation. Or can I just leave that stuff blank and they fill it in themselves?

TIA
Brenda

No. For that you will have to upgrade your Personal account. There's only so much you can expect to get for free...

Sorry I didn't understand clearly what you were saying.
