I have received two emails from the same person over the past several days. It appears to be from an international Ebayer. The name sounds German or French and the subject matter says "poser une question au vende". Due to the viruses and worms going around, I fear opening it. If it is legit I certainly want to answer the email. If it is a question from an international bidder, would the subject matter necessarily be in English? Thank you for any help you can give me.

The subject line means "Asking a question of the seller". If there's no attachment, I wouldn't worry. You could also virus scan it first.

I agree, if there are no attachments, I would open it. If it isn't in English, I would email back & request it be sent in English. The phrase you quoted sounds French to me.

Foreign sites are their native languages. If you list that you will ship worldwide, you item will appear on the foreign sites (if the bidder elects to look at "items available to" as opposed to "items located in" which is the default. If a bidder is viewing your auction from their native site, the ebay inserted text will be in that language as will emails sent from that site.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
