There is a stupid con artist on ebay. He started with one id, located in china, changed to another id, got a negative for selling a movie that looked like a copy. Now he is selling under another id.

Want to know what's giving this jerk away? He is using the same auction description, pics and all!

How do you turn this guy in?

the PITA safeharbor investigations route...

eBay has made it almost impossible to contact them directly.

Impossible to contact... I'll say! I went looking for a playstation for my kid, and found an auction ps2 cheap.
a look at it made me realise that this guy is selling "information on how to buy a playstation cheap"
JEEZE! and the poor sap who is high bidder is a newb with only 4 feedback ratings. The auction ends in 2 hours, should I email the high bidder and ask him if he understands what he is bidding on?

Many sellers "borrow" the exact same auction description and photos.

The PITA ( Pain In The Azz ) route is to report the violation is :

http://pages.ebay.com/help/confidence/programs-investigations.html

Type 'bootleg' in the search box at the top

Click on #1 ( Prohibited and Restricted Items - Bootleg Recordings )

On the bottom of the page that comes up it has a REPORT link ... clink and fill out the form

( ebay provides no urls other than the first one I listed so it is a true PITA )

Dragonmom, I was doing the same thing on Sunday. Looking for a PS2 for my grandson and could not believe how many people are selling info on how to get one cheap and getting bids!...what are people thinking...I guess it is just more proof that they don't read before they bid!

This guy is copying more than the same ads. He has the same email address for paypal. In his auction description it says something like: you can pay instantly by sending a payment through paypal to [email protected]

I KNOW it's the same guy

Turn him in. I presented the method in an easy step by step setup. Bookmark the auction(s) and check on it from time to time.

Thanks Auctionace, i didnt even see your link. DUH ! Where was my head? I just checked it and can't find anything for counterfeit or multiple ebay accounts that they guy has. Ebay shuts one down and he comes up with another one. Maybe it's a futile cause. Maybe I should just forget it

Ebay logs IP addresses. Ebay logs the credit card info. The seller's registration is much tighter now then a few short years ago. I bet they are catching a lot of bogus sellers.
