Bought this bracelet at an Estate Sale this morning. I came home and discovered the following marks on the jump rings. When I go to estate sales and find the jewelry is more than reasonable I usually buy a lot. I don't waste time trying to read anything I just buy it then go home and look at it. What brought my attention to this bracelet was the urn hanging from it and I thought it was cute. Now when I see the marks I know it is cute. The urn is not marked just the jump rings.

Urn is 3/4 inches high and has green faux or real emeralds. They are round and I know they are not rhinestones. The urn is on a large jump ring and floats around the bracelet and is solid. The ring is marked but cannot read it. The bracelet weights a little more than 1/2 oz.

This is the jump ring that holds the bracelet to the clasp the top numbers are
444 VI the bottom is 750

This is the clasp.

I hope I have given you enough information and I would appreciate any help especially with the 444 VI as I think the 750 is 18k

Thanking all in advance.

Yep, looks like 18k gold.

Good buy. What's the gram weight? How long is the bracelet?

The person who put on this estate sale should be shot. There's really no excuse for not checking jewelry under a loupe just to make sure.

Thanks Fluffy....

I don't know how to figure gram weight sorry. The bracelet is 7 1/2 inches long. Weighs little more that a half an ounce. Do you think they would put faux stones in an 18k bracelet.

Funny thing about this estate sale all jewelry was a dollar or under and it has happened to this group before. I got many signed pieces of costume.

This happened from an estate sale a couple of years ago run by the same people. My friend bought a chain, very heavy and long. But very dirty. I didn't see it until she was putting it in her mall space for $18.00 and when I saw it I told her she had better not put it in and have it check for gold. Well it turned out to be 18k and she got $362.00 for it. Not a bad take for a day.

very pretty bracelet Libra.

I like to buy lots at sales too, waste time reading them and someone else takes it.

using a loop is easy for some but for others, myself included, it is impossible. I have never been able to see anything through a loop. I carry a large magnifying glass and wear one on a chain, these I can see through.

my friend got to a sale just as it was opening...the elderly woman had a small box with jewelry and some other odds and ends in it. my friend asked how much and the lady said $1.00.

there was one man's ring in it that her nephew bought for $500.00. she says she has made over $1200.00 out of that little box so far.

Is the top of the urn filled in?

That is 18k and the ring should be marked 18k also.

yes the top of the urn is filled in and the big ring that holds the urn on is marked 750, although very hard to read. My eyes are not good.

This was a good sale for me for the 3rd time in two months. 1 sale I think a 14k victorian bangle bracelet, the next a 14k white gold victorian pin/pedant and now this sale. So I guess it's 3 times and out. I had better sit the next one out. In this sale I also got a very unusual bakelite charm bracelet with earrings to match. So I did okay.

Great finds, Libra! Wish I could find that around here. All the estate and yard sales around here are over priced, IMO. Most of the estate sales are run by professionals who think they know everything when in fact they do not. It's frustrating.

Try unscrewing the foot or very gently pulling it out. It may be a perfume container.

No it doesn't unscrew. You can see where the bottom meets the base of the urn and see that it is connected. Thanks though that was a good suggestion.

I don't know how to figure gram weight sorry.

Here's an online calculator I use to convert between grams, carats, pennyweights and ounces:

http://dendritics.com/scales/units-calc.asp

Note to onlookers: Bookmark that now. Someday you'll wish you had it and won't be able to find it.

Or you can do what I did and buy a gram weight pocket scale. Tanita makes a line of scales that use various measures.

Do you think they would put faux stones in an 18k bracelet.

Used to be I'd answer "no, not usually" to that question.

With so much gold jewelry coming out of China, though, faux stones are a real possibility.
