I am about to go off the deep end here! I have posted over at the VD image hosting and they don't answer and I can NOT upload images to VD!

I asked last week and they said "what size are your images?" and I started checking on that and I think they were small enough but I started trying to finesse the size configuration and bottom line....I had to format my computer and start over. Somehow I screwed up Adobe and it wouldn't save images saying I needed more room....anyway, I gave up and just erased it all. Now I have lots of room!

But I've tried and tried to upload a 75k image and can't! Everytime I try to upload it just hangs loading and eventually goes over into page timed out - detect network settings. I've updated my IE, my Windows updates, everything I can think of.

They're big images, but the largest one I have is 10 X 10 and it's only 125k and I have uploaded MUCH bigger pictures in the past.

Anybody have an email address for VD?

I can't even upload a 2" 17k picture!!!

What browser are you using to access Vendio? I think I remember that there were problems loading images through AOL, WEBTV and some other ISP supplied browsers.

IE 6.0.2800.1106

As I said, I have checked to make sure I don't need any updates.

Thanks

There is a "contact us" under the "help" section at the top of the Vendion screen..try that! Good luck!

Glassgrl: You have my sympathy! For a long time, maybe a year, I had trouble uploading images into image hosting. Sometimes I could upload 3 or 4, but never the full amount. It would time out. Now, you know how we women sometimes try magic instead of reading the manual??? One time, I decided the heck with it and went to my e-mail to read some messages. When I came back to Vendio (which had been running the whole time), my images were uploading!

Now, whenever I have a full load of images to upload (15), I superstitiously go to my e-mail for a few messages, then back to Vendio. I've had no problems since. And I have absolutely no idea if I'm helping things along or if Vendio got fixed a long time ago.

My husband, who *always* "reads the manual," would laugh at this but it - or something - is working for me.

glassgirl,
could your firewall be preventing you from uploading?

why dont you try something like www.hpphoto.com (I think they have a free image hosting component - at least they used to, and then you can see if it is somewhere in IE6, or some other interface problem - or just Vendio??) Or even try one free pix uploaded to IPIX in ebay to see if its connection/IE related.

???

I've given up. It must be something in the configuration of the desktop even though it's newly formatted and there's not much on there. I've never had any trouble until I installed that darned SMC wireless router thing. I spent the morning on the phone with them and they said "ok we fix" and sent me something to download. OK, we no fix.

As a last resort I put my pics on disc, brought them over here to my laptop and wah-laa, they uploaded in a nanosecond. Grrrr.

So I just unplugged the stupid thing and sent it to work with my husband who can pass it on to his computer tech and he can fiddle with it for a few days. At least it will keep me from heaving it in the Lagoon.

Thank God for laptops.

thanks anyway.

Now I have no excuse to not write auctions so I guess I better get busy

Glass - I dont know if this will help with your problem but I too was having frequent disconnects with my wireless network. Geek squad never could fix it.

It was making me so crazy! I would have to disconnect the power source to the router and the modem and reconnect and then reboot to get it to work. I had to bypass the router and connect the host computer to the modem to upload images.

Finally I tried "msconfig" in the "run" box and unclicked all the "start up" boxes on all the computers (windows xp OS) except Norton's. Works like a charm now! I guess there was a conflict there somewhere!

Thanks Neglus - NOW you tell me ROFL

I'll pass it onto the tech....that's exactly what I was having to do to connect on the desktop. Laptop always stays connected, but the desktop will just die right when you needed it to stay connected. Would die. Let's speak affirmitively here. That's what my Internet provider said to do the night I hooked it up, to unplug it and bingo, it was connected.
