Instead of being a day late, they will be on time. LOL

So instead of life and a day, you only get life!

I was once expecting a package from them and went online to track it. It was out on the truck to be delivered that day. So, because a signature was required I sat around and waited. . .and waited and waited. Well, I finally got tired of waiting and went back online. The delivery date was changed to the next day. I called UPS and asked them what was up. Turns out it was on the truck a day earlier than it was supposed to be and they took it back only to redeliver the next day. What a crock! You'd think they would have been thrilled to be able to deliver a day early.

Yep, but I don't remember the name of the episode. I registered here just after watching it and it was the first name I tried that was still available. (do any TV channels play them anymore?

I just read about it on the UPS website and it looks like only a few areas will get sped up. The transit map hasn't been updated yet.

Cheryl,

That explains why I sat around here all day waiting for the package that was loaded on my local delivery truck at 4:33 AM (I checked tracking online) and it never arrived. I guess on paper, they scheduled the delivery a "day earlier" than before, ran around with it in the truck all day, then will bring it back the next day? Geez!

My UPS man was already not getting here until 7:00 PM or later most days. I heard his truck in our subdivision after 6:00 PM but he never came down my dead end street like usual to deliver. I called UPS to make sure I hadn't missed him while in the bathroom or something. Nope. No attempt to deliver.

The dorky girl on the other end of the 800 number said "Well, technically the day does not end until midnight." Like he might come knocking on my door at 11:45 PM tonight to deliver. Right. She told me to give him a few more minutes. Meaning, "Get off the phone and leave me alone". That was the least help I've ever gotten from UPS. She could not have cared less.

Funny thing is, the trash men missed our dead end and didn't pick up from 3 houses yesterday. We told the homeowner's association and they were supposed to come back. Right. Like they are going to drive that big a$$ garbage truck back over here to empty cans at 3 townhomes. It's still sitting out there waiting.

Yikes! Maybe our building fallen into the "Dead Zone"! Hmm.. trying to remember if I got mail delivery today...Help!

LOL!

I was a UPS driver for 8 years.

The latest I was out delivering was 1:45 AM.

How would you like to get a C.O.D. at 1:15 AM?

This was not normal, as they generally did not care about service failures.

It is more about playing mean spirited games with their employees, whether it be being mean to managers, or mean to other workers.

The supervisor I was with on the 2:30 AM delivery run was on someones, "Mad At List". We had to take a route out that a driver had called in sick on, and upper management said not to come back until it was all done.

Other times when they were trying to be mean, they would have people come in at 8 hours (to lower thir paycheck), while everyone else was working 11 1/2 and 12 hours days, and more, and bringing packages back because there were too many to get done.

Although there are a good people scattered through the company, the core is pretty well set on taking out their aggressions on those around them.

Unbelievable stories I could tell, but will stop here.

Gousainc,

Wow!

I had no idea. It's a wonder then that nearly all my drivers over the years have been quite cheerful!

The drivers (and trucks) are really what people associate as UPS the Company.

When someone mentions UPS, you generally do not think of a guy sitting in an office eating a jelly donut, throwing a stapler across the office and cursing when he hears a driver just called and said he has too many packages and needs help to get them all delivered.

You think of the guy who shows up at your door, and cheerfully drops your package, and probably smiling, gives you a kind word.

For a driver, the internal pressures generally do not spill over into treating customers bad.

When you hear a bad story about UPS, it will usually be with an experience someone had with management, or customer service. Although not unheard of, seldom would you hear bad words about a driver.

Sapington,
Thats funny. There was another episode where the waiter was called "Jerkington" I used to be a Stooges freak. I dont know if TBS or the Comedy channel are currently showing the Stooges right now but I do know you can build a great collection of the short movies (VHS) right on ebay Good luck!

MY UPS driver once called my home, after I missed him- he told me his route, and I drove out and met him on it. Then he bawled me out for walking through an alley alone to get to him!
I love my UPS guys and they do not deserve bad management.

I knew UPS was associated with by drivers... but I thought that was because they seem to usually hire handsome guys. What a pleasant event for a housewife to get some eye candy every so often

I have daily pick-up service... and it's a real daily pick-up to see that handsome guy come to my house once a day. I'm no eye-candy myself, so it's a real treat for me. hehe I love my DH, but I love my UPS guy too! I hate when he goes on vacation! LOL
