boy, have you folks taken a stroll down their forum??
i just read one of their threads-paypal took 7500 dollars, help!!
this guy claimed to have sold a plasma tv set for 7500 on ebay ,shipped usps with delivery confirmation(no insurance).
buyer claimed he did not receive the item and dc showed nothing.usps said it could be LOST.
so paypal now put a big dent in his paypal account - a 7500 black hole!!
any of you want to help,go over there fast!

Should of been like the guy that got $3500 out of his account and into an untouchable account before finding out that his buyer used a fraudulent cc.... now has a -$3500 bal in his paypal account...

Now that is funny....

A lot of this you have to put the blame on the seller.
Would you ship a $7,500.00 item with no insurance?

As far as the buyer can't blame him!
Would you like to pay $7,500.00 and get nothing?!

you have to read the response-one guy said he works for UPS,how big is the item??
they also started c2itsucks.com,too bad c2it wont be around long.
what this seller should have done is to use the dc and signature receipt ,which is required for a high ticket item to qualify for seller protection,dc is not enough.
oh well, where did the plasma tv go??

If the unit was delivered but smashed, the scenario would have been a bit different but the stupidity level would have been maintained.

About a year ago, I read an online news article which stated that the sale of non existent plasma tv's was the largest scam, dollarwise, currently being perpetrated on Ebay. I believe I found the article through a link someone posted in an EO thread. That, together with the fact that if a plasma tv in the $7000.00 price range were properly packed for shipping, the P.O. would not accept it for shipping because of the size. I just tried to find rates at the P.O. site for a package that size to be shipped from my zip in California to Chicago, and they kept rejecting it as being to large to ship. Even if they would accept it, these things do not lend themselves to the handling they would receive from the Postal system. I don't think the tv ever existed and was never mailed. Even if his story were true, anyone stupid enough to ship a $7000.00 item via any carrier without insuring it deserves to get stuck for the full amount.

there is a case of a shop which actually shipped a plasma tv to a house in florida, buyer pays with amex.
it was delivered by truck and the resident of the house signed for it.
then the buyer filed chargeback saying he never order any plasma tv and he never sign for it,besides he moved!!
well, you know how amex is,it sided with its customer.
the buyer gets a free plasma tv in his new house/
yes he moved,he just hanged around to claim his tv set.

That or the new resident of the house recieved a preapproved app for the old resident, got a card, got a TV....

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
