I am sure that can happen. Check her feedback and see what it is. That should tell you something about the buyer.

I had a buyer that had a large check written to her that bounced and she couldn't pay right away and I said. "Thanks for keeping me updated and when you get things straightened out please email me". She did and we completed the deal. I guess when you can't see the person your dealing with you have to have a little patience and trust.

It most definately can happen. It's happened to me. Fortunately, I was able to get the money back from the bank but not immediately.

[b]Bank Problems do happen[/]
One time about ten years ago,I deposited my husband check in the teller machine deposit, cause the bank was already closed when I finally was able to go.Well Monday morning it was deposited and everything was cool ....then Wed. they took it back out and didn't say a peep to us about it...well a week later checks started bouncing and we couldn't figure out why.Went dashing off to the bank to see what the heck was going on.The bank lady went through our account day by day and came across where they had taken the deposit back out the bank...of course I asked why...they said there was no deposit made...huh??? Was too lol what can you say right ...she said go home and find the deposit slip to show you made one...well not thinking about it being a teller machine deposit I tore up the house ,car, trash bags and anything else you could think of looking for the dang thing...in tears at this point my grandmother loaned me enough money to cover all the checks still out and that had bounced...the next day the bank calls and says oops our bad,we found your deposit .It was stuck to the inside wall of the teller machine....screechhhhh !! Thank God !! At that point you remember the teller deposit.Needless to say I've never deposited into the machine again !They sent out letter of apologies to every place where the checks bounced and paid all the fees ...but it was truly a nightmare....Like Cheryl said got it back but it took days

My husband and I had a joint account- I had a "mad money" acont as well, and it was a good thing that I had started putting my paychecks into it because the state helped themselves to our joint, saying that my husband owed back taxes. These were personal taxes, not any of my business- but the account was emptied. And no, the bank never warned us. The did tell me I could sue to have my portion of the money returned.. hah!

Her feedback is ZERO... soon to be negative one.

She won the auction for a penny, plus shipping. The word for this bidder is LAME.
