Today, eBay has decided to bestow upon me, the honor of being a PowerSeller.

Right now I have the little logo by my User ID.

I'm debating whether or not I should keep the logo there. Does it affect your sales? Good or Bad? Do people think "Oh no, a PowerSeller" I'm staying away or "Oh good" this should be a safer transaction. Do buyers think they can screw around more if your a PowerSeller vs a "Regular" Seller?

I have excellent feedback, etc. without the logo, so do you think it will hurt or help or just stay the same?

What do you think "PowerSeller" means to most people now? Just looking for some opinions one way or the other.

Thanks!

You seem more exicted than the first time you got lucky.
To most buyers Powersellers=Bad Service

Here's some food for thought:

Today I received an Email saying I no longer meet the power seller quota.

Well before I became a power seller I sold enough to become one.
After I became a power seller I couldn't sell enough to keep it.

I turned my PS Icon mine off, because I felt it detracts from other important links they could follow next to my user name, such as my ME page or my Store Link.

I figure if they follow the power Seller Link, that may be their only icon click on my page, and to me that is a wasted click.

I actuality, it is probably not going to affect me one way or another.

Dadofstickboy,

Been there and done that before too. I will probably get rid of the logo just like the first time.

I am a PowerSeller and my wife is not. When we have ran the same items as a test it has made just about no difference. I don't think the general public pay any attention to PowerSeller status or to feedback in most cases.

I have run up and down the powerseller ladder between Titanium and Rusty metal. Ebay is always quick to send a threatening email to notify me that I am losing my "Benefits" & status. I have never inserted the logos since it buys me nothing and still haven't discovered the beneifts that I lost.

It depends on what you sell.

I think a lot of people on ebay like to think they are 'steeling' the item they are buying.
Jewelry is in this category. If you are a power seller they think that perhaps they can't. But I think you can get away with more inflated S/H if you appear to be a business rather than an individual.

All in all I think it would be good IF they changed the name. Would you go to a car dealer that was labeled a "Power Seller"

I know the AND!

My logo disappeared.

Other than that all is as is was, and how it will be!

I was at "Power Seller" status at one time as well. The only edge it gave me was that your friends who also sell on eBay think you're doing well and making lots of money. It's kind of a competition thing I suppose. Then when we lose it to only become just an average seller again, we all have a good laugh over it. Doesn't seem to make any difference at all from a buyer's standpoint I don't think.

Mine has come and gone over the years also. I don't think it hurts to fly the logo.

Most of the bad things said about Power Sellers are on the boards and as I said before, I think those people just suffer from PS envy.

Today must have been Powerseller notification day!

I got one notifying me that my status in now at Silver~I have no clue what any of these "levels" mean.

The email said I can now call up the hotline and and talk to a live person...imagine that!

I turned on the logo initially for one week then turned it off. I found it's just too much to have next to my ID: ID check, ME page, Store icon, etc.,

Does the buyer really care? I don't think so. If you have the product they need at a price they can live with, they will bid.

Plus, I don't think it's anyone's business the dollar amount I sell.

I've had it and lost it too. I am sure I will be invited to the club soon, since after taking most of the summer off, I have been doing a lot since Labor Day. I am sure I will lose it too, because I work on my schedule, and not theirs. I've not noticed any difference in sales with or without, and not a single question from buyers even hinted it was important. I do (and will again) display the logo when I get there again.

You commit to giving them 2,000 of business per month and in return they will give you absolutely nothing. I Gave up my power seller status -- I had been one for more than 3 years. You used to be able to email power sellers direct but now ebay have gone web-form balmy and you are just
as well off contacting the customer help thru their web-form page. Your status as a power seller entitles you to no more help than a deadbeat checking in for the first time. Other than that tho, it's worth being one......
