I listed a cigarette promotional mailing that contained coupons and eBay closed it, stating that it violated a policy. Does anyone know if it's against policy to sell cigarette or other advertising mailers that contain coupons?

I feel the mailers are collectible and since the auction title was for an advertising mailer, it didn't go against policy that I'm aware of...they allow cigarette ads from magazines and other advertising premiums, so what gives?

I'm interested in your thoughts on the policy rather than opinions on tobacco companies/smoking. I don't support smoking and in fact, believe public awareness of the dangers is what makes the above collectible. Thanks in advance for you input! Glo

Remove the coupons and try to relist them.
If you think that effects the "collector" value, wait till the coupons expire and then relist with a disclaimer that the coupons have no value.

I tried selling an issue of "Guns & Cannons" magazine with a free Colt 45 and Ebay unfairly stopped my auction.

You might want to read "Prohibited, Questionable &
Infringing Items" on the site map if you wnat to know what's fair and what ain't.

If the cigarette promotional mailing had an order form for current merchandise like a "Malrboro Miles" Catalog or Camel Dollars or any point collecting promo than it is against Ebay tos.

In their help system and prohibited items.

Current Catalogs containing merchandise for sale.

I've sold Marlboro Miles on more than one occassion.

Other people sell coupons however I don't know about coupons for products that require you to be 18 to buy them.........

I just checked out on the road and folks are still speeding.

Which part of :

"The sale of cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco, and related products is a matter that is highly regulated and taxed within the United States.

Due to the many difficulties inherent in assuring that tobacco sales comply with applicable laws, eBay will not permit the sale of cigarettes, cigars, smokeless tobacco or COUPONS for such items on its Web site."

DON'T you understand.

You also need to check many states laws on that. In many states, it is against the law to send coupons they may reach underages buyers.
