I can't believe the garage sales this weekend! WOW! I went to a few and only a few. Had to pass a bunch up since I had my shadow with me (My kid) Jus as well. He probably saved me a bunch of money.I guess I need some better books. Or atleast the ones sanmar has. I found two ceramic flowers. both have the sticker red/gold foil Lefton on them but these have an additional sticker as well! A clear one that reads " 1999 Geo Z. Lefton 13091" with a crest. Obviously this isnt an old piece. When did the company add this clear sticker????

Here in Cleveland we are going through garage sale/flea market withdrawal! I can't answer your question, but I do love to hear about other people's finds since the finds have stopped here pretty much until spring.

Oh Cheryl I went nuts this weekend. I know I spent more than I should have. Oh well. It's just that there were so many great garage sales. More than I usually see. I found a box of Old doll clothes in an old box purse for $3, A bag of old jewelry for 1 cent that included a Trifari bracelet (it probably isnt worth anything because stones are missing) , earrings & bracelet set marked "BREV. Pat." Looks like they are silver (plate?) and black plastic. Have no idea what they are. Never heard of brev. before. and much more. Too bad my digital camera can't get in that close to capture the marks. Otherwise I could research and list'em this weekend. I have to recoup the $$ quick as rent time is approaching. I bet everyone else goes through the same thing.

We need to start a garage sale finds thread

My find this week were toy trucks, old christmas lights, the pointed ones, old aluminum 60's christmas bell ornaments and yes a Dept 56 village scene, the one with the skaters and big tree, a Dept 56 skating pond, but last weekend was better. I have never found thing this late but I am not complaining. We have a new estate service in town and it has brought back reality & sanity with the prices. Thank goodness...

Fortunately, my trading assistant business is now picking up. I'm selling some pretty cool things for a client at work including a Trifari deco set and an old Yashica-Mat camera. Unlike my boss, the things she has given me will be rather easy to sell. My boyfriend and I are going to tackle his attic here in a couple of weeks. I'm sure there are some finds up there as this house is quite old (100 years next year) and there are things up there left by previous owners. I just dread going up there, though. Mice! Yuk! I'll need to borrow a cat, I think. We'll be tearing out the living room walls soon as well. They need to be replaced as the plaster is getting bad and part of the living room has been paneled (the old 70's crap). Who knows what I may find. "If Walls Could Talk".

I know what you mean about estate services! There is a house in the neighborhood that one service uses to conduct estate sales. They are way over priced! I always wait until 50% off day to go there. It's run by two ladies that I'm sure probably take the good stuff to sell on Ebay. Not that I blame them.

Congrats to both of you on your great finds!

Cheryl

Horsey, please don't think that this is a stupid question but: you mean that someone named J.A. Pan put the clear sticker on the item?

Paloma1... No,a lot of cheap China is signed by J.A.PAN & T.A.IWAN.
It seems like everyone in Japan was making china during the occupation. There are more "Made in Occupied Japan" china out there than Bradford Exchange plates.
