My auction ends on Ebay in 30 minutes. It is still under reserve. I need an opinion. The auction is 2565066199. The high bidder is the same bidder that retracted her bid a couple of days ago. She bid it up to my reserve and then an hour later retracted her bid with the excuse that she entered the wrong bid amount. Now she is high bidder again but it isn't at reserve. What do you think Her game is and what hand should I play? tooterville on Ebay

If it does not meet the reserve, you don't have a sale.
With less then 12 hours to go, I do not think you can cancel her bid and close the auction.I may be wrong tho.

If it were me, I'd let the auction play out and let her bid away. It could have been an honest mistake. Say your reserve was $100 and she was high bidder but accidentally put in $1000 instead of what she intended. I'm not sure why she hasn't bid up to what the reserve price is if she was there already and knows what it is. Or maybe it's just her game and she's going to bid up to the reserve at the very last moment. But looking at her feedback, she has a good record and isn't afraid to spend money. Good Luck!

I don't understand why she is bidding again. She hit the reserve before so she knows what the reserve is. She cancelled her bid before because apparently she decided she didn't want to pay that amount.

If she ends up winning, I am going to think she cancelled her bid to try to keep the price down. I think usually if an auction gets to reserve early, someone at the end still hits it at least once. She may not have wanted to have to bid it any higher.

Well, that was a dull ending. It never got to my reserve plus she wasn't the high bidder at the end. I guess I will go to bed. After all, tomorrow is another day!

Next time don't use that stupid reserve. Just list it for what you want and keep the deadbeats off your auctions.

She probably bid again even though it wouldn't meet the reserve because if you retract a bid because an amount mistake, you are supposed to bid again right away with the correct amount you wanted to in the first place.

Want bet she contacts you to buy outside of ebay? Guess it could have been an honest mistake but if she offers to buy below your reserve - well probably not!!!
