I am trying to search the words "board games" Ebay is kicking back search results for "board games" but notice all the titles in the auctions pulled up are "board game"-(non plural)Very unusual, I used to search "board games" all the time...any ideas?

That has been that way for as long as I have been on eBay. Example: If I search Lampwork focal bead that is all I get. If I search Lampwork focal beads that is all I get. If I search with both bead and beads I get both. Now some sellers put both the singular and pleural in the title for better exposure so maybe that is how you got board game. As long as both are in the title both will come up.

Libra63, I can specificly remember searching "board games" and getting only auction titles with the plural version. I am 100% positive.

I heard somewhere not too long ago that they are enhancing the search feature..was right here, I'm pretty sure.

Anyway, plurals and singulars will show up no matter which one you search, and things like / - etc. won't make a difference either. Smarter search. Good deal, too, so I don't have to use up keywords putting both forms in my title.

If you search for " board game* ", you'll get both singular and plural items. If you search for gam*, you'll get game, games, gaming, gambling, anything that starts with those three letters. The asterisk is your friend!

ebay posted this on their announcement board back in July

Plurals and Alternate Spellings in Search

In the next few weeks, we will be introducing an enhancement to Search that will help you find more relevant search results by including the plural version of a singular word (or vice versa) in your search results. Search will also begin to return alternate spellings of certain words.

On the other hand..that "alternate spellings" thing will take all the fun out of finding a mispelled auction title, bidding, fixing the error and making a profit. Rats
