Did you see the added comment about the German seller stealing the words and pictures. First seller said he reported it to Ebay but it only has 16 hours left to run.
Wonder how long they are going to leave it?

Yikes!!
Even if I had that money to lay out, I dont think I'd buy something of that nature from EBAY unless it was a offered by very prominent auctioneer or something.

The German seller has the high feedback and the other guy has only a few feedbacks from buying clothes. No one in their right mind would buy a very high end Rolex on ebay.

strange auctions - what's really bizarre is that the guy selling the watch in the US has bid several times on the watch from Germany..

ok I'm confused. Which seller has the REAL Rolex here? I would say the guy with no bids, but I don't have a clue now.
And no, never would buy something like that off ebay!

Maybe the German guy knows a jeweler who can make a knockoff? Wouldn't think so that quickly though.
That is very very strange.

Ebay actually gains when folks get ripped off, plus the more folks get ripped off the better for Paypal.

looking at one auction, the bidders look legit also. Are there that many with money to blow like that on ebay?
Funny how the rest of his auctions are all in German, and his ME page, but these others.. perfect English.

am I the only one who thinks it strange that the US seller has bid on the German seller's auction?
Hopefully the seller(s) of the other items are aware of what is going on and raising h!ll too!

Wgm..What's strange ??....He is trying to protect naive bidders.
But my guess is all the underbidders will fall for a great off-ebay deal.

I didn't look at it that way, horsey. I am not very well-versed in all the seasoned tactics (not being sarcastic, being honest)...so as a novice, I saw it as a bit suspicious. Must be me

Ok, is any 'up' on those German privacy laws, and is that why these auctions haven't been shut down yet???
I just might use my other ebay ID, just to 'ask the seller a question'....

I wonder if the german guy has had some id theft? His feedback is for wooden figures - NOT jewelry! Very strange! Looks like he had a nice business going with the wood doesnt seem to be a likely character to pull something like this!

and he has an eBay store and an "about me" page - not that that means a heck of a lot, but he's been working on building a reputation - puzzling it is!

The US seller's bid was $15,100.00 on the German auction before he was outbid - and that was on October 22, which was the first day the German auction started and one day after the US auction started...hmmmmmm

I was thinking possible ID highjacking of the German ebay seller too. The guy with low feedback has nothing to lose and to accuse the other guy is always a good move.

and another thing to think about...
If I were selling a watch like that, it would seem reasonable to check out the competition. I can't even begin to imagine how I would react if I saw my auction copied by another seller with a derogatory paragraph about me!

Since one guy in Germany and one guy in Arkansas both claim to have bought it at the same time and both are using identical descriptions, it's obvious one, or both of these auctions is a fraud. With this much money involved, Ebay should do the only appropriate thing and end BOTH auctions NOW. They can investigate and boot the scam artist and let the legit seller relist later. Maybe even give him a free featured listing to compensate him for the inconvenience. Or, they can save themselves the trouble of investigating and let them both run and see which bidder gets screwed. Then they'll know for sure which one was a scam.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

Huh? The German seller started his auction 2 days after the American watch seller..now I don't know if the American seller is on the up-and-up but clearly the GERMAN copied the American not vice versa. I would guess the American bid in the German auction to get contact information and maybe because he was mad as hell..I doubt that they are in cahoots because of the other two copied auctions. THe other two sellers seem to be totally legit with ample feedback...I think the little German woodworker had his id stolen and hasn't checked eBay in awhile because he has no items listed. Isn't this why all the scum bags try so hard to get our eBay passwords??
