Fairly often I get emails from eBay customers or webstore customers who are looking for a certain item that are similar but not the same as those in my webstore or ebay listings. I would like to find a simple software solution for managing these requests. Some sort of software that I could just copy & paste the email into and perhaps that would allow me to search through the requests in the database by the item, description, time period, etc. Basic requirements, fast, easy, works well, free or inexpensive as close to automatic as possible. Has anyone found a good solution?

Thanks

Can't say I've tried to track customer special requests, since I have little discretion in selecting eBay merchandise (I get what I get because it's cheap), but if you think the effort will add to your bottom line, the simplest cheapest database is just a flat file. Just save every request to that one file and do a string search (or a grep, for the Unix folks here) for a key word.
