They were supposed to merge this month, I don't see the difference in my store.

Second ? -- Half.com is not listing items in the inventory management; anybody else having that problem?

Everything looks normal to me in inventory management.

Transition information is available at: http://half.ebay.com/include/transitionHub.jsp

Hmmm, when I go the Store view I can see the inventory as a "buyer", but can't see it as a "seller" who wants to edit the goods.

I sold something just a couple of days ago on Half.com but it's few and far between these days. I'm not listing anything new with them until they merge next year (fully merge) and I see what's going on.

Can't figure it out...do not think they are telling us what they will do...will every book have a listing fee? In the meantime, they do not make their list of what books they kept in inventory available. So I have books listed which are not up for sale. Could be selling them somewhere else.

My thoughts are that ebay is hoping many of the better books will be listed on the regular ebay auction and many will be listed in ebay stores at 60 cents per year. They are probably glad to see the 75 cent books go away.

Everything is as it always has been at Half. My understanding is that Half won't be shut off until Spring or Summer.

Ebay now has the option to enter books and media items using ISBN/UPC codes, which they borrowed from Half, but Half itself is unchanged.

They have not yet specified what the new fee system is going to be. Presumably it will be more than free, but less than the regular eBay listing fee.

Replay, that was my impression when the merger talk first started but now I firmly believe that the only two ebay choices that Half sellers will have are 1) to list the stuff on ebay at regular insertion fees or 2) list in ebay stores at a nickel a month regards of the BIN price.

Two blurps from the Half transition Center

1)
You will be responsible for your inventory when Half.com closes. We are currently looking into some easy solutions to assist you in you in migrating your inventory from Half.com to the eBay site.

The first of these solutions is Pre-filled Item Information. Bringing this functionality to eBay will create a more vibrant marketplace for books and other entertainment items, making it easier to list items quickly using an ISBN number or UPC code.

--------
As a registered Half.com seller, you are automatically registered as an eBay seller. You can begin selling on eBay at any time, and also set the terms of sale, including how much you want to charge for shipping and your preferred method of payment.

eBay has nearly 35,000 categories of items for sale. Click here to see an overview list of all eBay categories.
eBay sellers choose all terms of sale, including price of item, shipping charges, pricing format, and preferred payment method.

eBay offers fixed price options through "Buy It Now" and purely Fixed Price formats in addition to its dynamic auction format. eBay's fixed price offerings contributed 27% of eBay's total Gross Merchandise Sales during the second quarter of 2003.

We encourage you to try different formats of selling on eBay to see which one works the best for your items. To find out more information about eBay's selling formats, including Fixed Price

2)
Opening an eBay store is a great way to help you maximize your business on eBay. We are currently working on ways to make the transition from Half.com to eBay's Stores platform as easy as possible, and we should have more specific information posted on the Half Transition Center.

3)
We understand that as a seller, the fees associated with your listings are important to your business. We are looking into many ways to help you successfully sell your items on eBay. We hope to have more specific information about eBay's fee structure by the beginning of 2004.

"We hope to have more specific information about eBay's fee structure by the beginning of 2004"

I translate that as they could come up with something altogether new. But I could be wrong- we'll see.

I think that ebay in general may have a new fee structure by the Summer of '04. I can't see any special consideration given to the Half items. I may be wrong but that's my gut feeling after being on ebay for five years.

I'm still able to list and sell (just sold a piece of softwr), but it takes a very long time about 1-1/2 days for the item to show up in inventory. I guess they're reviewing it in that time.
