Had a winning bidder pay through PP.
They had bid on another item that was to end 3 days later.
Trying to be fair, I offered to refund the original paymn't so that I could combine to save them money on shipping costs.
The ID agreed so I refunded.

3 days later, the ID was outbid.

Now, I cannot get in contact with the original bidder to repay for the first item.
ALL emails bounce, Ebay, my server, VENDIO, and PP.
I have reported this to EBAY.
Should I wait or go ahead a relist?
Error message is:
Warning! Connection refused...etc., on all of them!
What does that mean?
Thanks!

"Connection refused" means that their mail server is down.

Ok, thanks for letting me know!
I will wait then.
Seems they are bidding actively as of yesterday. Hmmmmm

There might have been a bad storm or a power outage. That happens and there is nothing we can do about that.

ISP's are like eBay mine does maintenance once a month and then they tell us that we might not be able to connect to the internet. But they do it a 2 or 3 am.

She finally contacted me.
I am hoping she received my reply.
Thanks for the comments!

I hope this works out well for you! I do think that you could have combined shipping anyway, without thinking you needed to refund for the original PayPal payment. Unless I'm missing something, if the buyer got the second item, too, you could have waited to ship both at once and just charged what you needed on shipping for the second item?

It worked out fine!
Her server is back up and she paid.
Thanks gang!

Road, yes, I guess I could have, but with PP they only give you 7 days to ship.
Supposing she waited 4 or 5 days later to pay for the second item.
I'd been in a mess if the customer wasn't honest!

LindaJean, see what you get for being nice sometimes???

Doing the right thing doesn't always payoff for yourself. It is just so grand to be moral and nice and kind and then you wind up scratching your head, because you dont have sh* when you should have.
(Now y'all know what kinda day I had!! )

ps: Love Fluffy's sig lines. Who is she talking to? Herrself? Or one of us?.....)

"Are you talking to me?" To me? ........

hahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

Just curious....how much money was involved here?

.
.
.My opinion is that you were very nice to offer to save your customer money on shipping. Little things like this make a big difference, and this level of customer service will help your business greatly. I also think that you violated one of the 10 commandments of sales.......never, ever return money once you've been paid if there's no reason to.

So glad you asked.

I dislike going off-topic; however, these little gems are the product of Despair, Inc.

Check out the Customer Disservice section, particularly the Troubled Tickets. I'm thinking of implementing something similar.

I usually like to combine items into one shipment.
If you don't, then PP gets more money!!
2X on shipping plus the item value.

I am usually tolerant,to a degree, but if you read my other thread, you will see that I am too old for just plain old laziness on Ebay's part, Safe Harbor's CS.

Fluffy, what an odd site. I chuckled a bit, but dont think I could take that in daily doses. Like the "get over yourself" line, though. (I say that alot!)
