After 3 years of daily use my digital Toshiba finally wore out last night - so I'm in the market for a new camera. I spent last night researching consumer reports and epinions --- all the features and differing opinions are so confusing. I just need a good point and shoot workhorse that I won't need to mortgage the house to buy.
Right now I'm leaning toward the HP photosmart 5.3 MP model with a docking station. Any thoughts on that model or other suggestions? Since the Toshiba was my only camera I've got to replace it almost immediately.

I have a sony DSCF717 and it is awesome. 5.24MP and super easy to use. I have taken nearly 5000 pics with mine. Steve's Digicams is a good place to research your next camera.http://www.steves-digicams.com/

I sell mostly boutique children's clothing and home decor items. I do indoor shots only using black or white backdrops.

There have been dozens of suggestions as to which camera is best. If you buy a reputable brand, you won't go wrong. Thje ones that are coming out today are superior to those of 4 or 5 yrs ago. I just read that Gateway now has a digital camera with 5.3 megapixels for under $300.00. My Olympus is 5 yrs. old, has 1.3 mpixels & cost $300.00. Get the you like. BTW, I was told by a professional photographer to use a medium blue background. It will enhance the colors & is easier to download than black. This is what TV stations use.
