E mail [email protected] (which is really safe harbor) See the GRRRRRRRR thread. KKBCLEAR hit the nail on the head. Mandatory Credit card registration from the buyers and recourse with NPB's. E bay can then collect the fees right from the dead beats credit card. Charging US sellers is just NOT right. We the sellers pay YOUR bills e bay. Why continue to penalize sellers instead of the dead beats.

That sounds like a good idea but I doubt it will ever happen because ebay is only a venue and collects fees from the sellers to advertise their goods there.

They are not set up to collect fees from buyers who may also just do a chargeback on their CC.

Many buyers are reluctant about putting their CC # online. I get quite a few newbies on my website and even though it's a secure server they don't want to put their card # there or even on PayPal so send a money order instead.

If sellers continue to file for their fees it will get rid of some of the deadbeats though they keep multiplying.

I liken them to someone who walks into a retail store and stays forever, annoying the merchant and wasting their time and making a mess as he handles the merchandise. He damages items as he goes and then never buys anything.

As long as it's part of the Perpetually Amended 260-page eBay User Agreement, buyers have no recourse for a chargeback to eBay.

Otherwise, I know plenty of dissatisfied sellers who'd get refunds of their fees every month.

However, eBay has shown no interest whatsoever in qualifying bidders. Getting an eBay bidding account is only slightly harder than breathing.

I guess he just ain't got no class like yer new Republican Governor...

"Asked if he felt "exploited" by women who pursued him because of his physique, Schwarzenegger said, "No, I'd feel used only if I didn't get something out of it. If a girl comes on strong and says, 'I really dig your body and I want to georgewbush the georgewbush out of you,' I just decide whether or not I like her. If I do take her home, I try to make sure I get just as much out of it as she does. The word exploited therefore wouldn't apply." Schwarzenegger later noted that once outside the gym, he forgets about bodybuilding: "I can look at a chick who's a little out of shape and if she turns me on, I won't hesitate to date her. If she's a good georgewbush, she can weigh 150 pounds, I don't care."

On the practice of abstaining from georgewbush'ing prior to a competition, Schwarzenegger rejected that approach: "I get georgewbush'ed on purpose. I can't sleep before a competition and I'm up all night, anyway, so instead of staring at the ceiling I figure I might as well find somebody and georgewbush." In fact, at the 1972 Mr. Olympia contest, "we had girls backstage giving georgewbush, then all of us went out and I won. It didn't bother me at all; in fact, I went out there feeling like King Kong," added Schwarzenegger."

I think it's a little harder than that. If you're willing to use a credit card or checking account number for a free 45 day AOL or Earthlink account you could get a bunch of ebay accounts in one shot though.

Not a good idea at all...

eBay couldn't afford to lose all the bidder's that would cost.

But then again, I guess paying higher insertion fees and FVF's could offset the losses.

Only REAL,,,,,, sellers can relate,,, those who spend their entire life jumping into EVERY thread have NOT a clue. NPB's are NOT bidders,,,they ARE a WASTE of time! 20 days of crap, and E bay STILL makes money! When was the last time the above "seller" filed on a NPB?

LOL and what is a real seller?

I think the real point is, if you can't stand the heat of doing business in an environment like eBay, you should just quit.

eBay is not B&M, whimsical ideas are cute, but not practical.

I'd guess someone hasn't tried getting an Earthlink account.

I signed up for one recently and didn't have to divulge *either* a credit card number or a bank account number. They are happy to bill me monthly.

The big ISPs are hungry for new users to fuel their growth. Some are making it very, very easy.

Thanks for the tip on Earthlink. I just supposed they had the same setup as AOL.

Haven't we all learned yet that eBay "buyers" are more valuable than sellers ?

Do you think when eBay goes to a corp like Disney they brag about how many sellers there are on eBay ? Nope.

Sellers are easily replaced. Bringing and retaining "buyers" at eBay is where eBay's leverage is at.

In any event, eBay couldn't charge the NPBs CC even if a CC was required to buy.

Great post REAMOND.

Yahoo Auctions has an extensive credit card verification for all users and there are still deadbeats. The deadbeats will deadbeat no matter safeguards are used.

Not really on topic, but I heard AOL is giving a bare-boned service for 9.95 a month and they can bill your phone bill i/o cc.

Earthlink too. $9.95. but! e mail only! Lots of problems with them! Wanted, (will) to end their service they threw every deal in the world at me. By the way! What is that ISP that Jeff Levy touts about? Pleeeeeeze someone know who it is......Thanks!

Good bye Earthlink. Early Termination fees will apply! Even if they have TONS of notes from cases I have filed, HOURS of elevator music, minutes of help. 1/2 later, same problems. Over and over and over. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Along those same off topic lines-- I reduced my Roadrunner/cable bill by almost half in August.

WOW cable offered cable TV and cable internet service in our area and I told TimeWarner to either meet or beat WOW's price or I'm gone.

I am getting Roadrunner and standard cable (72 channels) for $43.95 a month. I was paying $74 a month.
