I was wondering if anyone is actually using wireless access with a web-enabled cellphone or palmPilot or other PDA to access eBay. I am sure that having the ability to instantly look up items on ebay from an auction or yardsale appeals to folks but I wonder how well it actually works in real life. So if anyone is actually doing this, how well does it work, what do the costs look like, any thoughts or recommendations? I have tried to look at a few of the wireless sites but haven't found any really good information so far so if anyone has website recommendations on this topic that would be appreciated as well.

I have a tungsten T palm pilot and the cables to hook it up to my cell phone but haven't hooked it up yet. Maybe I'll get to it by this weekend. I asked this question not too long ago here and the answer was half hearted...not worth the trouble ie slow connection speed. However, to me, if you are there and have ANY connection, that would be better than NO connection.

Like weekend before last we were in Nashville. My husbands daughter wanted a treadmill for her bday present and he found one. I told him I thought it was a good brand name but wasn't sure - so I said call her and tell her to look it up. She was at work and I knew she was online all the time. He called, she looked, the cheapest one of that brand she could find was $1600 used. He bought it for $50.00. She was happy, he was happy.

There is an ebay wireless page where you can supposedly look up how it will look like.

I LOVE Endicia! You will too – Click here!

I got a Cingular cell phone because I was told I could have web access, specifically Ebay. Once I got it, I found that the ebay site is not the full ebay site. I do not have access to completed auctions, only current auctions. These days with most bids coming in at the last minute, current auction prices are no use at all. So, I don't use it.

There are some new gadgets coming out that have full web access, not just those sites optimized for cell phones.

You can go to Ebay. Because the screen is small you have to do a lot of scrolling to see everything. I have my home page set to my listings. I also have Ebay page me when I sell an item. I can go to Vendio, Pay Pal, the post office ect.

It really comes in handy when I am traveling or when the cable modem decides to go out on me.
