Ever since paypal has their new email notifications (a few days now) almost all my payments are unconfirmed addresses. One person even left a "note" in the message spot to send to confirmed address. Some of these people have been members for 4 years. I can't believe they are all unconfirmed. Is this happening to anyone else?

YES! Now that you mention it, ALL of my notifications say "unconfirmed address"! I know some are from repeat buyers who have confirmed addresses before. Something must be amok there in PP land.

I just called PP and they talked about the confirmed address issue BUT I DONT UNDERSTAND IT~!!!!!!!!!!!

Someone else call and see if you do...listen to the whole message and then at the end they have you press a button for info about the unconfirmed addresses: Call us toll-free at: 1-888-221-1161

I have paid for about 5 auctions in the last few days and my address is listed as unconfirmed on all. It was always confirmed in the past. When I click on the ? by the unconfirmed I get a message that it is not confirmed because the information came from the seller. Say What? I have not tried initiating a payment from my account to see if that makes a difference.

Also of the 5 PayPal payments I made in the last few days I have only gotten the canned Congratulations email for 2 of them and those are two in the middle. Since I have never used PayPal for selling is this a choice the seller makes? They all show as completed on my PayPal account.

ok..here's the skinny: I just talked to a HUMAN (well that is debatable really) at Paypal...

He said that when buyers PayNow through eBay they have to list their PayPal address EVERY TIME or it will come back as unconfirmed.

WHAT??????? I said!! I see I paid for purchases yesterday and i show as "unconfirmed address" and I didnt see anything different in the way I paid!

He said well its something different in the way EBAY is handling things...

I said cant you get it together you are owned by the same company...he said no..it's ebay's problem is there anything else I can help you with.

I said am I supposed to ship to 50+ unconfirmed addresses?? He said just hope they are right!

WHERE IS THAT PAYPAL DAMON PERSON!!!!!!!!!!!

this from ebay board:

Changes to the “Review Purchase” page following “Pay Now” buttons have resulted in some PayPal buyers unknowingly paying with unconfirmed addresses. Buyers with PayPal confirmed addresses should click the “Change shipping address” link on the "Review Purchase" page to select a confirmed address. eBay and PayPal are working on improved messaging to resolve this unforeseen issue. Until the improvements are available, sellers who receive PayPal payments with unconfirmed addresses will be protected by PayPal’s Seller Protection Program if an identical address is confirmed in the buyer’s PayPal account.

Regards,
eBay

WELL HOW THE HECK ARE WE SUPPOSED TO KNOW "..if an identical address is confirmed in the buyer’s PayPal account."???

Ihula, I noticed that, too. Thought it was just the buyers coming my way. But did see one 3 years, 56 sellers paid and thought, "you'd think they'd be confirmed by now."

So glad for this board to know these things!!

Neglus, nobody's is gonna click anything are they???!!!

I just looked at the one I got yesterday. Unconfirmed and she has a 1003 feedback. I really doubt if she is unconfirmed.

I am not even going to mention last night Ihula....

I've shipped to a few unconfirmed addresses in the past couple of years and never had a problem. But each time I e-mailed the buyer to ask if he/she knew about this and what gives. Always got a good reply right away.

What a mess, though, eh wot? That paypal guy's comment that you'd better hope they're good addresses was totally uncalled for - such poor customer service.

They don't want to anger millions of buyers and sellers...
