Almost shipped the wrong item to the wrong person!!!
A mystery check for the total of one auction was an overpayment by someone else (who I guess either can't add or underpaid me for insurance.)
I wish they would put auction numbers on m/o's.
It's weird to me, so many people just bung a check in an envelope, not even a piece of paper around it to disguise it!

Okay Bing I agree with you. The auction number in the memo would be enough. Last week I received 2 payments for one auction. I wonder who is waiting for their payment....Since I don't do a lot of auctions I happened to recognize the name.

And still! I keep hoping!! for ebay to make new buyers pass a simple 5-item test before they can make purchases. To teach them to identify the item they're paying for, or asking about. I"m getting more and more questions from buyers, or payments, with no ID of the item in question. More of those "how much to ship to Toronto" without mentioning what the item is. It seems cavalier of people to trust that their money will be applied where it should be.

The most incredible payment I received was one from England, 4 crisp new U.S. ten dollar bills, very visible in a thin semi-transparent brown envelope, the flap just tucked in, not sealed, NOTHING else inside the envelope, and NO return address. And would you believe, it was from a business owner!!
