Id there a new trend in Ebayers out there or is it just the holiday time? (never sold through out the holidays before) Now I have a buyer who insists they have not received their package. I have a delivery confirmation that says it made it there. i emailed a copy to them and they still continued to email me five times within an hour asking when I would be sending a refund. What would your responses be??

I work for the P. O. WHEN IT'SCANNED DELIVERED IT'S BEEN DELIVERED (however there is no signature involved) so only if it was left and stolen--otherwise they have it !!

I send a lot of PO and have had several people claim non-delivery.

Each has found their package, and there is one currently looking.

Once or twice, even though it showed delivered, the Post Office had it at the Post Office.

At least that was the claim of the customer(s) later.

Another time or two a family member or roommate had received the package and placed it somewhere without informing the true receiver.

Another time a family member had taken it when it came, because it was suppose to be a present. When they got their present they wrote me and tell me it showed up.

I think I remember another where the Apartment Office ended up with it. Since it was a relatively expensive item, I had put signature required on that one. I remember the Post Office records showed they waived the signature. I was pretty upset until he wrote that it was found.

I always suggest they ask family members or anyone who may have been at their house, ask the mail carrier and ask the Post Office that handles their mail if they have any idea where the package may be.

I encourage them that missing packages have happened before and they have always been found at one of the above places.

If I asked them to go and seek, and they still hounded me without seeking, I would not feel like they were being very fair.

Good Luck.

It's a rare occurance but I had this one just last week. I had purchased an item from a woman three weeks earlier... got nothing in return so filed a PayPal complaint. She emailed me furious that I was trying to scam her. She had mailed the item out the same day I sent payment, added DC and sure enough, DC showed it as delivered two days later. I checked both of my addresses, talked to my mailman, nothing. Went down to the post office, got in an arguement with my least favorite clerk and made a complete pain of myself until he finally went to the back and checked the package section (more to get away from me than to accomplish anything) and sure as hell comes back with my package. No evidence of a notice left for me and no idea why it had been scanned delivered. Even the post office makes mistakes. Tell them to check at thei local station.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

I just recently had one of those too. Woman emailed me demanding to know when I was gonna mail her package. I snapped a pic of the DC with the date stamped on it proving I mailed her package the same day she made payment. I also tracked the DC# and it had been delivered 2 days after I mailed it. I pasted the tracking info in the email, along with the DC pic and told her to check with her postal carrier. She emailed back, alot nicer this time, and told me thanks...she will follow up with the carrier. It's always nice to keep your butt covered! Haven't heard from her since!

Nothing new. Just one of the ways they try to scam. I used to give out the DC number, but found some customers would use it to scam you.

I had a guy email me and ask where his package was. I looked it up and gave him the Dc number. He then emailed me the next day, no mention of the previous email. In this one he claimed I sent the wrong game. He opened the wrap just to make sure the cd rom was ok and could he change it for the right one.

A) I did not send the wrong one.

B) If I had he never should have opened the cd rom. Nice way to try and get a free copy.

C) I checked his DC #. It showed it was delivered to his office around the same time he emailed me the day before. I had no doubts that he had already received it when he emailed me the day before.

I never heard from him again and I never gave out another DC #.

I seem to be getting quite a few inquiries lately about items not being delivered, and every case I show the item has been delivered. I have to believe that people see a loophole in the system, and are trying to get free items. I think you are crazy if you ship without some sort of delivery confirmation. Once I give them the info, they don't bug me again. If someone emailed 5 times in an hour, I would simply block their email from reaching me. If your ISP does not allow that, time to find a new ISP!

lol got one tonight:
Hi

I paid -- when will you/did you ship?

My answer:
Hi xxxxx ,
They were shipped 11/06/03 with delivery comfirmation....the tracking
number is 0280 5213 9071 3533 xxxx . The on-line postal tracking
www.usps.com says it was delivered at 3:04 PM Nov.14 ,2003. Maybe your
spouse got the mail that day and forgot to tell you it was delivered? or It
has happen but doesn't happen often ...it could still be at the Post office
in the back and if you go ask them for it they will look for it. Please let
me know the out come.
Thanks !
Kelly

Lets wait and see if it's found

wow I got a quick response -e-mail was dated today:

Kelly,

Thanks for the response. I sent this out to you a few days ago (don't know
why this Email took so long to get to you). I did receive a notification in
the mail -- I'm sure it's the package you sent. Will provide feedback after
I receive it.
