no mark their pieces?

Went to an auction, and bid and won a box lot of pottery, in it were salt and pepper shakers, a yellow and aqua, with cork bottom.
they sure have that look of Fiesta, the 'bands' around them, and bright colors. I know they are old(er) as the cork stoppers.
Plus the bottoms look like there would be no room for any markings

so did Fiesta ever NOT mark their pottery?

Thanks!

I found this on a web site :
While Fiestaware is still made today, collectors seek out the original production which can be identified by the marks on the pieces. For the original production, three different marks were used: "Fiesta/ HLC USA", "HLC/Fiesta/Made in USA", and "Fiesta/Made in USA/HL Co.". Fiestaware is actively copied, so one much be careful of reproductions or similar wares made by other companies. Since about 1940, Homer Laughlin also marked all of their production with the mark "Genuine". It should also be noted that some smaller, genuine Fiesta items may not have any markings whatsoever such as salt and pepper shakers. Be careful to look at the detailing and quality, and especially the spacing of the circles which on genuine Fiestaware should narrow progressively.

thanks toasted!

I looked through ebay, all are the globe (round) ones, or the ones with handles (rangetop?) both in active and completed.

I'd be surprised if these were reproductions, they could be, just the look is old. They have a 'fluted' shape, one is bright yellow, the other is an aqua.

Unfortunatly, they both do have chips on the bottom... just was interested if they could be Fiesta, because they do have the 'bands' or circles around each.

Thanks!

You might check Bauer pottery shakers, especially Bauer ringware. Sometimes Fiesta and Bauer look similar to someone not schooled in the differences. I have a lot of Bauer and have sold orange ringware s&p shakers.

Thanks Roadsmith, I will. Just got back on this computer.

When I did check toasted second link, the salt & pepper I have here were the first thing that showed on that page. Doesn't mean they are Fiesta, but they sure look like them. I'll keep checking. Don't think I'll list them, be nice to know what they are.

Thanks!

Not sure how heavy the original Fiesta dishes were, but one of the main differences between Bauer pottery (all of it) and the Fiesta I've seen from the last 30 years or so -- Fiesta is much lighter weight than Bauer, which is chunkier and thicker as a rule. I'll bet you have Fiesta, but it never hurts to check.

Isn't Harlequin made by Homer Laughlin and looks a lot like Fiesta? I don't think they are marked but I might be wrong...

Howdy, ya'll. The shakers you are inquiring about (the first one on the sight you viewed) are Harlequin. In the pic, they are in the metal donkey holder? Absolutely Homer Laughlin Harlequin. The yellow one would be slightly brighter then the vintage Fiesta yellow, but the turquoise one would be the same color as the Fiesta VINTAGE turquoise color. Do a search for Harlequin and you will see the colors to confirm what I am not doing a very good job of explaining? By the way, your pair ARE a pair, they were offered for sale originally as a set of two different colors, most commonly yellow and turq.
