I have a very nice Alpha Phi pin to list but on one side of the "A" it has "Apuovia" and on the other side of the "A" are Greek letters. I searched on Excite and it couldn't find any results for "Apuovia". I wanted to translate the Greek letters on Babel Fish, but it doesn't have Greek capabilities. I tried to use the World Keyboard while there, but again it didn't have Greek capabilities. Can anyone help me or at least tell me why it can't be translated on Babel Fish? Thank you..
On the same subject, does anyone have a good website that shows the fraternity/sorority official crests and symbols? I was using that ariesrising website, but it is disabled now. It was a great site. I can figure out the fraternity/sorority symbols but the official crests are a lot more difficult. Thank you!

Right after I listed my Alpha Phi pin, I was contacted and asked to end the auction early for $200. I was sure tempted because money is tight this time of year with no shows. I am still curious about the extra words on the "Phi" symbol. Especially now since I think that is what trigged the request to end the auction early.

Below is a link to a site that has the English "Names" for the characters in the Greek Alphabet. Often if there is a second set of greek letters on a fraternity pin, it is the chapter identification or chapter name. Sometimes you will see a pin on chain with a smaller pin at the end of the chain, the larger pin is the frat name and the smaller pin the chapter name

Thanks, Lucy! I am very happy since the reserve was $45! I hope I don't regret selling it for the earlier offer of $200, but I like to give everyone a shot. I found a site that translates Greek and Latin into English, but still couldn't come up with the meaning behind the symbols to the right of the "A". Or for the word "Apuovia" that is to the left of it. I hope the winner can clear it up. Here is that site if anyone is interested:

Thanks so much! This will really help for Christmas. I don't usually have sales that end that high. I hope they will tell me what those extra words mean. Thanks again! Karen
