A buyer of ours wrote this morning:
"Good Morning! I was gonna pay for my ebay items. When I clicked on the paypal the wording came up in German? I just wanted to make sure that it is gonna go to your account. Please let me know if that is accurate. Thank you, Lisa"

Then, An ebay member [seller mostly] bid on and won one of our items ... SHE said to me in an email this morning:
"Paypal payment on the way = =
one of my sales invoices arrived with a buyer in what she thought was German; she thought it was a scam but wanted me to know. Hope ebay gets it straight soon, what a mess during the Holiday buying!
Pat"

So what is up with THAT? ... any of you hearing of incidents like this?

Close your browser and click on your link to open up a new copy of your browser. Manually type inhttp://wwww.Paypal.com and manually log in. See if you get the same page. IF you don't, someone is trying to scam you big time. BE VERY CAREFUL OUT THERE. (Sorry for the caps but this time of year there are so many dangerous scams going on, you HAVE to be very careful!)

HI... danke Paloma ... of course the first thing I did after finding out that was happening on one of my payers AND another seller's payer, was to go to my paypal account to make sure everything looked ok ... [and it did] ...

But I took your advice and opened a fresh browser to go directly to paypal just to double-check, and still, all looks copasetic ...

I just think it's really weird that happened to two of us. hmmm... and yes, we all have to be extra careful at this time of year ...

You might want to suggest that your buyers do the same thing and see if the problem is still there. Please let me know what happens. I am really curious!

Hi!

I think it's just another glitch in the eBay system.

About a year ago when I clicked on a "Pay Now" button, it took me to the eBay.uk site...even though the seller was in the US. I went ahead and paid with no problems.

I had this happen to me again recently when I clicked on a "Pay Now" button. When the next page came up...it was all in German and it looked like I was on eBay.germany (or whatever it's called). I just closed the browser and clicked the "Pay Now" button in "My eBay" instead.

Within the past few months I've also received a few invoices from US sellers and the invoices would show it coming from either the UK or Germany eBay site.

Generally, as long as I recognize the seller I.D. and know it's an item I purchased, I don't worry too much.

But it never hurts to be cautious.

Sounds like a glitch. Now we get international glitches. Even though Paypal costs the sellers money I'm always happy to see those emails saying payment received by Paypal for an auction. The quality of the buyers seems to be poorer and poorer and a payment in hand is worth two in the mail.
