I just paid for an item using the PP link on Ebay. But, it told me I had to change my shipping address as this was not confirmed and the seller only accepted Paypal confirmed addresses.

I went ahead and clicked on the link to change shipping addresses (just to see what the deal was) and there was another copy of my address just like the one Ebay already had sitting beside the one that was declined. Identical. But, it took that one as confirmed. There wasn't even a coma changed.

What's going on? I made it through, but it took several tries and new buyers are going to be confused. What happened to the simple "click and pay" that was there last week?

I sent off several payments with an unconfirmed address because the second choice was exactly like the one displayed. I finally started changing to the second same one. After about 5 times of clicked on the button to make it the default I finally got it to come up confirmed. Glad no seller who said "confirmed address only" called me on it.

I actually found that it is just the address in eBay that shows up "Unconfirmed". Once you click on the PayPal and sign in, it was all confirmed just like it should be. I just ignore that initial message and go forward with payments now.

LifeIzGood, That was true when I payed from the PayPal site but when I did it from the auction page it was still unconfirmed on the payment page last week. Maybe they have fixed it.

Before today, I did not take "unconfirmed address" seriously. Well, I had a bidder who apparently stole an eBay ID and a Paypal account. Fortunately, the item wasn't mailed. Also fortunately, the true owner of both the ID and the PP account reported this and the funds were reversed BEFORE I sent anything out. Never again. Confirmed address or nothing for here on in.
