Fo the last few days, every site I go to including eBay ,Vendio, USPS,ANY SITE is dumping anywhere from 40-50 files in my Tempoary files. If I look at just 1 listing.delete tempoary files and look at another ,I have 50 temp.files per site again ! including Java scripts,GIF and JPEG images etc.
All sites, including all non-Ebay sites have the blue 'e' eBay icon in the Location Bar ? at the bottom of my screen and in my 'Favorites' including non eBay sites, not their own icon.
As I type this minute, open window bar reads
" e [ebay blue icon ] Post Topic".
I am overwhelmed with temp.files and can not understand why ALL sites have the eBay logo instead of their own.
I hope I have made this clear as I am not a computer guru. Can you help? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Ocean, sorry I can't help with your problem.

Just wanted to let you know the blue e is the Internet Explorer icon, not eBay.

There are some options in Tools, then Internet Options (up at the top in the gray task bar. I'm not an expert at all but it sounds like your settings need to be changed. Hopefully one of our computer whiz-kids will wander in.

The above poster is right, , the blue "e" is the Internet Explorer icon, not eBay's.

For the rest, go to your toolbar & click on Options.

In the box that drops down, click on Internet Options

In the box that appears, click on the tab labelled Privacy. There is a slide bar that allows you to choose the cookie level on your computer.

Click on the General tab. Halfway down you will see Temporary Internet Files. You will be able to delete all the cookies on your computer if you like (but that will affect your "favorites" so watch out). Click on Settings.

In the box that pops up, you will be able to choose just how much or little space to allow to temporary files.

Also on the General tab, you can check to see how many days you have History set for, and can empty History. I recommend this, especially if you have it set for more that a a couple of days--all the crap can really bog down your computer.

My Cookies are set at Medium.
5000 MB disc space for tempoary files, and History at 3 days [also cleared].
These were original settings and I have never changed them.
Can't beleive I mistook the Internet Explorer icon for eBay,should have known better.

you might want to reset the space you allow temporary file folders--5000 MB is rather a lot. I have mine set at 608 MB and do just fine.
