Hi, all. A friend has several boxes of audio taped books, still in shrink wrap. EAch box has only one book in the whole thing, not a mixed collection. Has anyone had any luck selling them as a lot rather than individually? They don't do much individually, and the friend just wants to unload them.
Would you gear your auction to swapmeeters or such? To commuters? Any tricks of the trade?
Most of these audio books are sports-related; one box has the Pacific Coast League historial stuff (from a book about that league) and another has the old Negro League audiobooks.

There is a lot of interest in the Negro League. I have sold books and they did quite well, but maybe besides the books that the person wanted the pictures. I wouldn't lot the negro book just try it on it's own unless you have more than one. I think drivers who have a long commutes would have an interest in them. Blind citizens like those also then they don't have to depend on someone to read to them. I have sold audio tapes of the Bible and they did quite well. Did you check ebay on how the books did? That should be an indication but I would wait until after the 1st of the year to list them as people are to busy now.

Thanks, guys. Libra: I already tried selling the audiobook on the Negro League and it didn't even sell, starting about $4! I even double listed it, in sports as well as Black Americana. Seems to me that people who are interested in sports of any kind want video, not audio.
On the other hand, if I were one of those swapmeeters, I'd want maybe a couple dozen of these to sell for a few dollars each. I'm just not sure how to reach those folks.

I sold a lot a few months back. They were the last of a large lot I purchased. These were the ragamuffins that were not moving. I stuck them on Ebay and they went for cost. So I did not loose any money. I had already profited from the lot anyway. Take a look at the sold listings. This will give you an idea of what they will go for.
