I did a search to find something for my son. I selected "located IN the USA" only and ended up with sellers located in HongKong. How can that be? is that an ebay glitch? These sellers are using Paypal! I think they are legit since they have over 800 positives and only one negative. I don't think you get the paypal protection if they are located outside the USA

They use a family members or friend's credit card and billing address in the US for registration. It doesn't mean they are dishonest sellers. Usually you see stated in the auction descriptions shipping of item coming from another country.

I love the auctions that have " Hong Kong - USA " in the location fields. They break every rule in the book and usually get away with it.

I sell in SoCal in at least two and sometimes up to four different countries
The country that you are in is decided by the site you list from and the currency you choose to list in. When I sell directly to european sites from their site then the default is that I am in that country.
I am not breaking any ebay rule by doing this. I list my actual location as did the seller in question above. Ebays programming sets the rest. If I change the country it changes the currency. Since I accept payment in the various currencies I list in and state where item is being shipped from in my auctions there is no deception.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?
