I thought it was against eBays rules to sell catalogs inwhich the bidder could then make future orders from the catalog?

My qusetion is this, I've seen people selling dealerships to drop shipping companies, example eBay item #2586296583. I myself run a small wholesale company and also would to sell dealerships on ebay but always thought it was against the rules.

Is there away around this or has eBay relaxed these rules?

Bill

I could be wrong here but I do see a small technicality which could be the deciding factor.

These people are not selling you a catalog for you to order from. They are selling a business program which utilizes the catalogs. You would not be purchasing the catalogs yourself. The purpose is for you to use the catalogs to expand your own business.

Like I said - I could be wrong but this auction is a lot different from say Victoria's Secret selling their current catalog on ebay.

Victoria's Secrets catalog is never free. So I guess it doesn't matter if they sell it on line. I think if you could get it free then it would be wrong for them to charge for it but it is not a free catalog...

Why not report them and then you can see if it is legal. If you report them and they pull it then it is illegal. That is the only way you will find out....

Libra - I must have recieved at last 20 catalogs from VS in the past two months. I had an ongoing joke with my mail guy over the fact that for a couple weeks there was a new catalog every day. Believe me, I didn't pay for 20 catalogs : ).

I am curious about one thing... why are people on this board so eager to say - "Report Them". It drives me nuts that every time someone has a question about another seller or buyer someone jumps in with Report Them!, Turn them in!, etc. Is this an ebay only trend or do you call the police whenever someone in the neighborhood does something you think might be illegal. Are you allowed to water your lawn four times a week? I don't know, call the police... if they don't get arrested I guess we can do it too.
