I noticed on ebay that several sellers have super cheap subscriptions for magazines, for example 4 year subscriptions to Forbes magazine for around $6.00, most of the sellers seem to have very good feedback 99% positives with most complaints that it just took a long time for subscriptions to start and I am wondering just what the deal is. Is this some sort of scam? Is there something else going on? Or are these just really amazingly cheap deals? Anyone have any experience with this guys or thoughts on what is going on? A 4 year subsription to Forbes for $6.00 just sounds too good to be true and you know what they say.....

Gee, it does sound very good, doesn't it? I'd like to hear from someone who knows about this kind of auction.

I purchased around 18 subscriptions in May of 2002 from a seller who was then NARU'd because of the complaints from bidders who did not read his TOS. He clearly stated it would take 3 to 4 months for these to go into effect. He had hundreds listed so I waited until I could get the ones I wanted for under $1 and some of them were for 4 years.

Just a few (I can't remember them all because they have expired) were:
Woman's Day - 4 years
ESPN - 2 years
Country Weekly - 6 months
US - 3 years
Crochet Home - 1 year
Interview - 1 year
Balanced Living - 1 year
and several others.

In September they started arriving just as promised. altogether they cost me $108 which included shipping, and I have definitely gotten my moneys worth. I wonder if he ever got re-instated? I don't remember his id (I have changed computers and lost all my email and favorite seller info) but he started all the subscriptions out at a penny.

I don't know about the auction sellers. However I have used

www.bestdealmagazines.com several times. I have never had any problems. I have gotten $25 subscriptions for $5. You can't beat it. Almost as good as the free magazine deals I use to get on the net.

WOW! There are some pretty good subscription rates available out there on auction and thru bestdealmagazines.com. I wonder how those sellers can offer 2+ yr subscriptions for so cheap?! I might have to start doing some BIN's!

LOL that's what I was thinking....and now we're all over at Ebay looking at magazine subscriptions. I don't "do" women's day or family circle but two years for $4.95?

I did see some teen magazines that would of been a great christmas present. I'll save them for birthdays, we have 2 going on three teenage girls, and I remember I used to love reading them at that age. I didn't see any hunting/woodworking for my husband, however ELLE tempted me. I couldn't believe what some of them were going for either!

I have bought from several sellers and have gotten all the subscriptions. I have been buying mags on ebay for about 18 months and currently get about 15 different mags a month. If a seller doesn't list what you want, just ask them.. they can get just about anything. I have used these two sellers most often.

They also make the BEST gifts. Great way to send someone something that keeps reminding them how great of a friend/family member you are!

I remember the seller you are talking about, he went NARU because his ex-wife's account was overdue and they were linked, or so the story goes. He was going to do an affiliate program, and I started to become interested, but he went NARU and that was that.

My sister got me a three year subscription to Equus that just ran out, off Ebay. It came like clockwork!
I tried to cancel, to do that you can't go through the magazine, and so after one attempt at communication, and no luck at cancellation, I kept it.
But...it's not Practical Horseman (I mean who can pass up on that B****y George Morris every month! )
