Anyone else get these type of Questions requesting info? I've gotten two now in the last couple of days requesting info for this one buyer... it goes like this:

Hello recently user "******" purchased a talking fsu bottle opener. I am now involved in a transaction with this person and have sent a large amount of money for an article. after this person received my money, I have lost contact with them, and they have not returned my emails.. is it possible for you to tell me where you shipped this item to and any other information, so I may call them on the phone or contact them by mail. thanks in advance, julie holmes, transaction done ******, item number #***********

I got another similar one (although it stated I was the buyer, which I wasn't) a week ago, but this one said my buyer wanted the guy to sell motorcycles overseas for him, and wanted to know what I thought of him... (Jeez... there's one born every minute!)

I kind of blew off the first one, but with the second one, I'm thinking this is kind of wierd...

Thanks!

Hi Steve,
I have asked other sellers before if they have had problems with a bidder if I have had problems with him as well.

Before you reply to the email though, you can check the bidder's ID and see if they really did bid on the merchandise this letter writer is claiming. And do not respond to the letter writer directly. Respond to them thru the Ebay "Ask Seller a Question" system so there is a record of your email exchange just incase there are other problems.

I would not send any personal info about a bidder to someone I did not know. IF they can not obtain that info from Ebay, then they need to file a complaint with Ebay so the bidder account will be frozen.

Hope that helps.

You might want to send them through to Ebay. Probably best to ignore them. I certainly would not give them any personal info about other buyers or sellers!

Why are they asking you for contact information ? If they want contact information they can contact eBay.

Thanks all!
This person claimed they'd "lost contact" and the seller (my buyer) wouldn't return any emails... I'm taking all your advice and just ignoring it... besides, I "upgraded" to Win XP Pro last night and it wiped out all my saved emails anyway so no I don't have a choice!

I don't even answer email like this, best just to ignore in my opinion. I once got into it with a buyer on half who used to change their contact info so that when they purchased, the seller (me) would ship to their customer on ebay...very strange. Got them into serious trouble too, because they were REALLY bad at keep track of things, and got a ton of negs and finally NARU. They wanted info as to where I shipped the item, and of course their info was different than where I shipped, so I refused to give them the info. They made a claim with half, and half came down on my side because I shipped to the address on file (at least at the time) and I had a delivery confirmation receipt that shows it was delivered. What a mess!

I got the same kind of email from a losing bidder who wanted to contact the winning bidder to see if he would re-sell the item to him. I just ignored and deleted it.
