Ok, I am selling some advertising stuff...

got a guy, he sells the product.. but DAMN, you think he could get this info from his rep he buys the product from

He emails me now constantly, and I've been nice.... he wants to know some contact people on marketing it for his store

OK its Seattle's Best Coffee... Starbucks bought them.. they will still be around, but we believe they are slowly being phased out, not sure how long they will carry the name..

So now I have a lot of SBC's advertising stuff, legitimatly they had a silent auction, before they shut the headquarters down. Husband works there, well now he works for Starbucks

I've been nice so far, tried to give him some 'tips'.... now I've got this HUGE SBC display.. and he writes and says 'I'll buy that too'

HUH?

I don't want to be rude, he just won a couple other SBC things, and is sending a cashiers check... but I just do not know what to say to this one.. HE ALREADY PUT THE FIRST BID ON IT..

How can I put it nicely to him, or would you even be nice? LOL!

TIA

Sorry, his email said this:

shelli.if u want to take this off..i will buy this..as well.thanks..xxxxx

Thats the exact email.. thats my dilemma I guess. I don't want to 'take it off' for a couple reasons.

The last SBC sign, he did bid, wanted to buy, but by then, someone else had bid it up to $100. and it sold for that to someone else.. he's bought (not paid yet) smaller SBC stuff though.

Another reason is I just don't like ending an auction just in case ebay *could* somehow get wind of it, and they frown on that stuff.

But I don't know how to explain all this to him.

Just handle this as you would for anyone else. Thanks for your offer but per rules you will have to leave the auction running to the end.
Just keep it short and sweet and to the point as you really do not have to explain yourself to them.
As you say if he deals in this then there is no reason that he can not get any info from his sales rep.

Just tell him the truth.

When you signed up for ebay there is a claus, I think, that says you cannot end an auction so you can sell it off of eBay. Tell him you are an honest seller and that when you put an auction on you want it to run the full 7 days. Unless, you want to put a BIN on and let hin have it that way. I have never ended an auction early to sell to someone but I have put on a BIN so that the person could buy it

Near, what Libra and Itray said.

Sounds like you may not trust his motives entirely? I dont think I would either if you havent gotten paid yet. You can be polite, but it comes down to: "if you interested you can bid."

Don't worry about stop. He is a moron.

Keep your auction running to completion and go from there.

Any time someone wants you to end an auction early for a set price, the odds are with you that you will get twice as much if you let it run to completion. The people who send those emails are known as bottomfeeders and they will try to get the item at 1/2 what they fear it may wind up selling for if the auction runs its course. I love those emails. I call them appraisals.

The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

LOL, Sparkz! I love it! Always felt the "Sell it to me now" offers were a good sign that I had something others would want.

Now, I'll look forward to even more "appraisals". :->
