Me and the hubby dug this up metal detecting about 15 years ago and I have never been able to find any info on it...I was thinking that maybe someone here might .Does it have any value ? Maybe a Victory / Service Metal ?Anything you have to offer will be grateful appreciated.
It's a little larger than a fifty cent piece and looks like maybe copper
The front reads :They Did Not Pass 1917 1918
The Back Reads : presented by the city of Elizabeth N. J. In grateful recognition of patriotic services in world war

The coin is old and from WWI, I am sure if you list it someone will want it. There are WWI collectors out there. It only costs you 30 cents to list unless you use vendio then a little bit more. I would take the chance because of the age and history it would be difficult for me to discard it. I guess I am a sucker for history...

Thanks Libra63 your right about the large market for World War stuff
I'm just thinking if it's worth less than 10.00 it's more fun to keep it and being able to say I dug it up with a metal detector.

Every town in America has a local historian, either official or unofficial. I would see if the web site for Elizabeth N.J. would be able to help you get in touch with theirs. He/she should be able to fill in the blanks for you.
