Carrier Pickup will provide the ultimate convenience in sending Express Mail® and Priority Mail® packages. Best of all, it is free, regardless of the number of packages.

Easy and Convenient in 3 simple steps

1. Address your package and apply postage.
2. Request a pickup online.
3. Your carrier picks up your packages the next postal delivery day when delivering your mail.

Coming soon to most major markets nationwide in February, 2004.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

Wow, that's great! But I bet there'll be some sort of restrictions.

I've checked with our local PO and they tell us that since our carrier "walks" his route, they can't take "ANY" packages from someone on their route.

But, the PO is the least of my worries. We've built a good rapport with several there and never have to wait in lines anyway -- and the PO is just 3 blocks away from our house.

Sounds like good news to many others though. Let us know when it kicks in and what your experience is -- love to hear it.

YEAH!!! This is so cool. I use Endicia, and right now I either have to watch for the
mail man -- or leave him a note (that is not
attached to or in the mailbox) that says "Have x # of packages for you today". Then he comes and rings the doorbell to get them.

This is wonderful news!!

Thanks for posting it!

My postal carrier has always picked up all the priority mail packages I place in my mail box. Nothing new here for me.

We all have PO boxes only, so that won't do me any good, but I'm happy for the rest of you. My first thought was that maybe they'd raise postage again soon because of this added service, but really it will take some stress off the postal clerks, won't it, at least with the big sellers?

Well, we shall see.

Ummmm.... My carrier has always picked up my packages. All I've had to do was put them out and she picks them up. For the love of God - don't let it out that she has been doing something extra!!
