This Candy Dish was my Grandmother's. I don't deal in glass so I don't know how to describe it. I am told it might be pressed glass. How can I tell? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!!

Is that a tinge of green in the glass I see? or not? .... also, can you zoom in so we can see if it is cut glass vs. pressed or pattern glass?

It is clear. No green that I can see. I can't get a good close up of it. It has a lot of pyramid shaped places where the glass sticks out. I thought that would make it cut glass but as I said, I know nothing about glass. I can see what looks like a seam on the inside.

Thanks for your help. The piece in the auction looks very similar to mine and looking at the website and at Ebay I found other items that looked like pieces my Grandmother and Mother had in their houses. For future reference, how can you tell what is pressed glass and what is something like crystal? Thanks again!

As I understand it, crystal is glass with a lead oxide. All cut glass is crystal with about 40% lead oxide so it can be cut. Crystal is not always cut glass because crystal can also be plain or etched.
You will find that cut glass is heavier than pressed glass and it has a "sharper" feel to the points and is more brilliant. If you plan to sell lots of glassware, perhaps visit an antique shop and ask the dealer to show you the difference.
There are thousands of patterns, hundreds of factories, etc. None of us will ever know it all but it's useful to know the basics.
Here is a glass glossary page with most of the terms.
