I don't think so. Citi Bank would never send such a poorly written message.

Hi Sparkz,

Looks like spam to me.

I'd call CitiBank and find out if they sent it, which I seriously doubt they did. Who knows? Maybe they can catch up with the perpetrator and shut them down.

It came from some jerk at dbzmail.com after it floated through charter.net and some other hole in the wall domain. Just wanted to share it with you so you could see how real amateur scammers operate. When these guys learn to spell and get out of grade school, they might be dangerous Besides, I don't have a debit card with Citibank.

It's Real!

It's Citi Banks new method of Encrypting messages.
You will now need Ralph and his Ovaltine Decoder Ring to decipher what it is they want!

Got that message a couple weeks ago.
Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the spelling

How could anyone that stupid think they could get the time of day from anyone?

Let me guess. Ralphie is having a Dutch auction on those decoder rings this week? And if I recall correctly, Ralph has an email address at dbzmail.com. Hmmm...The plot thickens...

Got that one a little while ago, too. Thought I'd do CitiBank a favor and send it along to them -- and used: [email protected] -- of course, they don't use anything like that and it bounced.

It was then that I decided: "Screw 'em" if they don't use what has become a common way to report problem e-mails and potential fraud....

Oh well.

Well I have had a lot of customers who can't spell or form a sentence properly. I bet they will still get someone bozo to fill in the info.

thanks for the laugh.

It is not genuine because I got the same message a month ago and I don't even bank at Citibank nor have I ever banked there. Think someone is trying to harvest bank acct. numbers and just randomly e-mailing in the hope that they can connect with a few suckers.

Correction - mine was spelled a whole lot better than yours. Maybe this one comes from another source.
