my postmaster advises that to determine whether a package can be mailed via Airmail Letter Post, it must be measured for the length and then add the girth (distance around the package). However, that is not what the information on the USPS website. There it states to measure the length plus the height plus the width. Anyone know?

She is confused re: PARCEL POST (which is governed by a different INTERNATIONAL AGREEMENT) than LETTER POST

LETTER POST:Max. length 24", Max. length, height, depth combined 36"

VS:

PARCEL POST: Max. length 42", max. length plus girth 79"

Tell her to consult INTERNATIONAL MAIL MANUAL after she undergoes a cranialanalectomy...

I use a bubble envelope either 6 x 9 or 8 x 10 and my post office takes it. When they put those measurements on they need to revise it as to the size envelopes we can use not just numbers. I guess they just want you confused.
