I was all excited b/c I had a great week on ebay that ended this past Sunday. 40 items ended with bids Sunday night. I still have 10 people who have not confirmed their payment or responded to their WBN (4 of the buyers have FB ratings of 15 or higher, the rest are Newbies). Auction TOS state, "Confirmation Must be Made within 3 days of auction close". UGH!!!

It never fails... Have a good bid week, and then get screwed by the bidders.

I find that many people never respond to the WBN's because they just don't want to be bothered with the effort. But if I haven't heard back from someone within 3 days as requested, I simply send them a copy of the WBN with the words "2nd Request - Please confirm your bid" and I also type in under that "1st Request sent on */**/04" and that usually gets their attention. Some people never read the TOS and simply wait for us to keep pestering them. I just try the friendly and professional approach and then move on to demanding. Good Luck!

I have about 1/4 of my bidders never respond. It is actually closer to 3/4, but 1/2 of them just pay instantly with PP. Out of those that send checks, at least half, maybe more, never respond to any emails. But, I have a low DB rate and they eventually send checks.

I don't bother them for 14 days and then send a reminder. It usually saves us both a lot of trouble as payment is usually here by then

I too will send "SECOND NOTICE" followed by title of the auction they won. It usually works fast, but if it doesn't, they get the "buyer contact information" message from Ebay.

Sometimes, looking at my completed auctions, I try to guess who will be the slow one. There's always one -- always! And it's impossible to predict.

Why make them confirm? Seems like too much to keep track of. I just keep track of who doesn't pay, and after 10-14 days I do NPB, then 10 days after that FVF

Vet has it right. Too much work otherwise.

If I don't hear from a bidder and have to send a 2nd notice I always include the 1st notice also just to show them I did send one. Somes times a check just arrives in the mail without any notice. As long as they pay I really don't care. If your not a seller only a buyer they have no idea what we go through. Sometimes I just sit back and sigh. I as a buyer pay instantly if I win an auction...

Understanding, but the point is that they are not following the TOS, and 60% are Newbies. I send a reminder 4 days after the auction closes, and after 7 days they get the NPB notice from ebay along with a FINAL email from me. After 7 more days, they get the FVF. I don't play around, because ebay is proactive. It's not like you go to a website and place an order, pay for it at the same time, and get a few weeks down the road, and email them only if there's a problem. Bidders know what they are doing when they bid, and it clearly states the terms in the auction, the WBN, and the checkout process.

ebayvet,.. I have done what you mentioned but after a month later and I never relisted this item either, but when I filed for my NBP with ebay ...a copy of that was sent to my bidder who never responed.

I went and gave him a neg. I did this a month later and within one day he wrote me 3 emails, and gave me a NEG. he's neg was a get even neg. But he told me he was in the right to do this to me because I did not give him notice that he didn't pay me. That was his reason for giving me a neg.

..........well that is a whole different story that I will not go into here.

But I would like to know why do we as sellers have to give reminders to a buyer to pay us .........when they were the ones who found our auction ......and bid on our auction, ********but now that they are the winner it's up to us to make sure they pay????????..........

Maybe some people need us to remind them ......and others don't.....but heck, I think as a seller we have enough to do without taking on reminder emails now. Anyway one reminder from when we file our NPB should wake them up.........don't you think?..........

As a buyer I pay immediately within 24 hours of the auction closing. I don't expect a gold star but I would like and expect some type of confirmation from the seller. 50% of the time I get nothing from the seller. The item ends up in the mailbox.

As a seller, I use the invoice feature in "my eBay" and include a personal thank you note. 2 or 3 lines. I don't repeat my TOS they are already stated in the auction description. I don't rely on the EOA notices either. I just had one pop up from an auction that closed 4 days ago. Did the buyer receive theirs?? They received an invoice from me.

I know its frustrating. Each seller and buyer has to have a system that is workable for them. I get good tips from these posts and enjoy the banter. Keep up the moaning, and groaning, applauding and sharing your bright spots.

WBN is the winning bidder notice Ebay is supposed to send to high bidders ASAP. Lately they've been sent sporadically, sometimes right away, sometimes a day or two later.

I want to defend all of us who want and need confirmation from our high bidders when an auction ends, saying they know they won and that they have the information we've sent in the WBN.

I think some bidders are clueless that they've won something; perhaps they're bidding on lots of things at once (in which case, red flag!). Whatever it is, it's not enough for my peace of mind that I MAY get a payment in a week or two, or I may not!

Bear in mind that Ebay requires communication between buyer and seller WITHIN THREE DAYS--and there's good reason for that.

After I get paid I ship in one or two days. I send the customer a Delivery Conformation Email on the day I ship. I think this is enough for the buyer don't you Guys and Gals.
About 2 years ago I put a note at the bottom of my invoice in nice big letters it says "WANT TO KNOW WHEN WE SHIP? WE SHIP 3 TIMES A WEEK. LOOK FOR YOUR ITEM SOON AND ENJOY." That note along with the a Delivery Conformation notice has stopped 98% of the emails about shipping I used to get. Thanks to small wonders. ha ha. About NPBs its an Ebay fact of life and they will always be around. They waste everybody's time including their own.

HAPPY SUPER BOWL EVERYONE AND GO NEW ENGLAND
