So I was just listing a book for a $1.00 stating price (no Buy It Now) and was about to click the "Submit Listing" button when I noticed my listing fee for the auction was $.35 instead of $.30. Thinking I accidently used the Buy It Now feature, I went back to revise the auction but I had *not* used the Buy It Now feature. Stumped, I decided to look at the fees page again and there it was, a fee change. Now the $.30 listing only applies to a starting price up to $.99 and it now costs $.35 for a starting price of $1.00 to $9.99. There are also additional changes as the starting price goes up.
Am I the only one who didn't know about this? Maybe it was announced some time ago or something? I didn't see any recent announcements about this fee increase.

Yeah, I figured that when I didn't see any discussion about it here today that everyone must have already known about it.

Yep. Just start that $1.00 book at $0.99 and make 4 cents. No big deal in this case, but I wonder how many people won't catch that? I wonder how many people will spend the extra nickel to make a penny?

Hi Fiset,
I received 2 emails from eBay last month. One announced the fee change and the other had the new fee schedule. I have printed it out as a reminder.
I can't believe they just posted a hugh quarter profit and then slammed new fees on their low $ sellers. Makes you wonder if they are tired of their Mom and Pop sellers and only want to do business with the Power Sellers??

eBay doesn't care one way or the other where their money comes from, just so long as next quarter they have more than they had last quarter.
Powersellers, Mom & Pop, Mass Retailers, whatever. Doesn't matter. Just so long as the profits rise.
Doesn't matter how much profit they had last quarter. If they raise rates now, it'll go up for next time.

I bet alot of Powersellers will quit paying all the big fees if their profits start going south. Most of them have to sell a big volumn to do well.
