When is the next FLD on ebay and what kind will it be? I just finished the Fld on yahoo and it was a sucess. But if I had to pay listing fees I would have lost money. I need to know what kind to prepare for. I feel sorry for all those suckers who are paying those outragous listing fees, they mount up quick.

Not the answer you want to hear, but the only one you can count is in in late December.
Often, but not always, there is one at the end of June.
And then they have their miscellanous specials at odd & unpredictable times. Things like free storefront listing, free fixed-priced, penney gallery, etc. These happen once in a while during the year, but cannot be predicted.
Yahoo tends to have FLDs about once a quarter, so don't expect another one until late Spring at best.

Do not recall any FLD in June for a number of years-at least not for U.S. listings. They do have them occasionally for U.K. Australian and Canadian listings throughout the year. Thnk you will have to wait until December and it is usually right after Christmas and it is usually a "Thank You, Sellers for all the profits you have made for us throughout the year" sort of thing.

Tell me, will you stop listing, to wait for a FLD? OMG: How can you be so cheap?? I list every week & hope I can make a profit. I do not look for a way to list for Zip. If it comes along, fine, otherwise go with the flow. I want to make a profit like everyone else, but I won't wait for a free day. I have yet to lose on eBay.

I personally don't care if they never have another FLD. It's hard enough now to search through the mountains of new Chinese imported junk to find a quality item. It's even worse when you have a FLD and 5 million listings for low priced crap that aren't worth a listing fee get added to the pot.
The light at the end of the tunnel will turn out to be an oncoming train.

I still want to know what our old friend here sells that having to pay listing fees would cause him to take a loss and why anyone would decide to list only three days or four days a year in order to make what must be a rather pathetic profit as opposed to simply reevaluating their product choices and choosing things that have more than a 50 cent profit margin.
Of course there is also the question of why any of us would truly believe that there is someone so completely ignorant of common sense rules of business to actually buy into this repeated trolling..... but that's just me.

If it's really "common" sense, why do so few people actually have it?

IMHO Free Listing Day is for the Birds!
Savings in listing fees are more than offset by loss of revenues due to the increase in auctions listed. It's simple. Supply drives demand.
I'd rather pay the fees & make more money on the entire transaction.

dbest brings a bit of color to this board which can get a bit drab at times. Although he/she is whistling into the wind. listing fees are gonna continue. FLD's will be a rare event from eBay and a nice bonus for many sellers.
For my nickle & dime outfit the buck or two I pay to list something is really no big deal. I pass the cost on to the bidder along with my standard 100-200% markup! My niche items need to be in the market during certain months, Dec-Jan are not it.
