I sell art on ebay but ebay let these mass art reproduction companies come in and list a zillion slave produced art works. They start the listings at a penny but hike the shipping out the roof.

I fear that these mass item sellers are going to eventually crowd out the unique items that originally made ebay popular. Just turn Ebay into another Yahoo style repository for mass produced junk

I am not against sellers who sale mass produced items but I am against catagory hogs who list 80 items in a row.

plus this stuff does not even sell that well!
I don't get it.

I am considering opening a Ruby lane store - does anyone have any experience with it?

thanks

Not Rubylane but I use Shoporium at www.shoporium.com and it works for me. What I like is the same software, www.auctionsubmit.com (free) loads ebay auctions and store listings and you can change inventory from one to the other. Store is under $20 a month no per item fees, no final value fees, very easy to run. The key thing is you have to figure out how to generate traffic to get to your online store no matter where you put it. Without getting yourself listed at or near the top in the search engines it is difficult to generate much business. But if you put in the effort it can work out.
