Well I just got off the phone with FedEx.

The person that answered the phone said that packages wrapped in brown paper did NOT have to be completely covered with tape.

Maybe the person that was working the counter the day my husband dropped off my package was overzealous when she made him cover the entire package with tape.

OTOH, I had NO idea that FedEx Home delivery does not deliver on Mondays!! I've never seen that information anywhere!

I waited all day for that laser cartridge to be delivered so I could print out packing slips and shipping labels....

"Yes" to who ever asked if I would leave follow up feedback to that negative feedback I left for the laser cartridge seller already, since he refunded my money and told me to keep the cartridge. I figured I'd try the cartridge out first though. I will admend the feedback.

Any packages coming from Florida with a strange yellow dust on them...don't be alarmed. It's only pine pollen. I air everything outside for a couple of days before I ship it and the pine pollen is horrendous here with the 70 degree weather we're having.

I've got as a buyer to seller PP rant but I'll save that for another day........

They don't deliver on monday because they don't have anything that day.
Any packages that would normally be delivered on monday are all delivered on saturday. They don't transport packages between terminal on the weekends.

Do you print prepaid label or do you pay at Fedex?

Home delivery's work week is Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M. Fedex Ground is Monday to Friday, 8 to 5 to coincide with normal business hours.

FCS, Why don't you call FedEx Ground & find out what their delivery days are. Why in HXX ask us? I get delivery Mon. thru Fri.

Yes, saturday is a normal delivery day for FedEx Home Delivery.
It is a real nice thing if you are at either coast since it takes 5 days, stuff shipped on monday is still delivered the same week.
From here the longest delivery time is 4 days so anything shipped monday or tuesday is delivered the same week to the farthest zone.

It sounds like you have a know-it-all trouble maker at the place you take them. that is one of the reasons I started daily pickup. One person at Fedex was that way and complained about everything. (everyone else there is real nice)

Do you have any Mailbox etc type places close by? Before the local MBE turned into a UPS store I took mine there. He didn't charge anything, just had me carry it all to the FedEx pile.

The other option is to talk you your local Ground delivery person.(not Home Delivery)
He might not mind picking them up if he goes right by. (Mine gave me his cell phone number and I call him if I don't have anything.

forgive me for sounding *blonde* but FedEx GROUND is M-F, but that's only if it's going from business to business.

If it's HOME delivery it's T - S (so I know now)

So even if we are a business, if it's going to a home, it was my understanding you have to use Home Delivery. Right? Or am I blonde?

Sanmar...be nice! quote: "Why in hxxx ask us?"

I wasn't asking a question, I was stating that I'd just found out that FX HD doesn't deliver on Monday's. I won't even say that I don't know what FCS stands for.....

Glassgrl...You are correct on the days of service for each company. However it is still possible to use FedEx ground for delivery to a residence, but the residential surcharge will be higher. The only time you would want to do this is if you exceeded the size or weight limit for Home Delivery. Then you would want to use Ground because of their higher allowances.

Glassgrl...While you're here, maybe you can answer an OT question for me. I noticed when scanning with Spybot S&D that one of the spyware programs it looks for is "eBay toolbar". Do you know if that's the program Ebay has available for installation through their site or is it a rogue 3rd party download from somewhere else? The reason I ask is there are a few Vendio users having trouble with the category selection pulldowns and several in the services threads seem to have this program installed. Ebay even suggested to one user that they uninstall toolbar and reinstall it.

It's an Ebay feature like the Google toolbar.

I have the Google toolbar for the popup blocker so the Ebay toolbar isn't something I would want (or need!)
