I am starting a new non-profit called the needy college student funds.

Its sole purpose exists to funnel money into the hands of poor graduate students at MIT who own rabbits and must sell their belongings on ebay for spare cash.

It gladly accepts all conservative, liberal, or undecided donations.

In fact if you act now you will recieve for a limited time only a genuine American flag for your donation.

Here are some quotes from students who benefited in the past from viewers like you.

"Wow - now I can afford to eat this week, no more ramen noodles for me tonight - I can afford meat. Tonight my family will eat spam." --- T

"I am so thankful for your support. I don't even care what whacked out political views you might have." --- also from T

"I can now afford the high cost of rabbit chow. My rabbit will no longer starve thanks to you anonymous donor" --- also from T

Today's recipient is a poor graduate student who decided working the graveyard shift managing a large computer network was just too boring. "I never saw my wife and dog . . . and rabbit. By applying myself in school I hope to someday get a job working during the day."

So please - give today. Anything you can do helps.

Silver membership $52.95
Gold membership $64.95
Platinum membership $135.00

Silver members will recieve a large 5 foot by 8 foot embroidered US flag.
Gold members will recieve a large 6 foot by 10 foot embroidered US flag.
Platinum members will recieve a large 8 foot by 12 foot embroidered US flag.

Please look at our website for more information. You are our only hope.

This is a real sad attempt at spamming your auctions here for your own gain. Grow up.

Maybe when you sell the ex-tenant's jewelry you'll be able to buy some rabbit chow. In the meantime, let it out on the lawn. It'll either eat some grass or get nailed by a BIG MEAN DOG!

Either way, the problem is solved.

piles of antique jewelry I got from my in-laws.

I don't understand why you feel a need to even mention where the jewelry came from in your auction. Even after all the advice you've been given here about the jewelry for the past year, you start out your auction by deliberately misrepresenting it. You know it isn't antique so why did you say that?

Come on, are you really this dysfunctional or what?? It has to be at least one hundred years old to be called that.
But then what can one expect of a spammer. Where did you study ethics? Enron 101?

Just say that its a vintage lot because that is what it is.

>>you start out your auction by deliberately misrepresenting it.>>

The marketing hook here may be to get bidders thinking that the lot is better than it looks, and they are going to "put one over" on the poor, ignorant seller ("Wow, they must not know that is Navajo silver!". Judging by the seller's location (a town in the Boston area), there must be at least 50 jewelers/antique dealers within five miles of their home. If they don't know anything about this jewelry, it is because they do not WANT to know anything about it. As our Boston area consumer reporter would say "Buyer Beware!".

There was a movie with a scarecrow that had a song to fit the OP. Darn, now what was that movie? Something about a wizard.

It'll be interesting to see how the jewelry auction ends up and what is left in the way of feedback.

I sold my 15 pounds of nonsense-mostly broken-only good for crafts costume jewelry for $31. Of course mine was accurately described and not misrepresented in the least.

I wonder if toben knows how much trouble he can get in by calling his org. "non-profit," when it is highly unlikely he has registered as such with the IRS.

Taking money for personal gain and calling it non-profit is a big no-no.

Is this just for MIT students? I think Ebay sellers are a dying breed. Sales have been slipping now for the last two months (expected 50% of the drop). Perhaps we should start a starving Ebay Seller fund.
