Is this auction and the other 9 like it legal? I have no idea what a Mox Saphire #1 is. A card I guess. From a role playing game? It just seems like a variation on choice auctions, which we know are illegal except the seller is somehow making the choice.

rhpepsi...Wow, buying it back one piece at a time and rebuilding it is gonna take forever! This is one case where I would be tempted to make an off Ebay deal. It'll save you and him both hundreds of hours in disassembly - reassembly labor

Photosensitive...No, they are not legal. What he is doing is considered to be a lottery or a raffle under California law. The constitutional ammendment passed by the voters that legalized the state lottery gave the State of California a sole monopoly on lotteries and raffles. There are probably several other states that would view this action as illegal under their laws.

I don't know about the legallity of the auction, but it is most definetly against ebay rules. Have you turned them into Ebay yet? If not, do it ASAP

Just had another thought. Why would anyone do something this stupid. He/she just spent $3.50 in listing fees for something that might bring them just a couple of dollars. Or even if it makes it over $10.00, he just paid about $3.00 more than he needed to.

Check out this auction. This guy is selling feedback. Look at when the auction started, then when it ended and finally when feedback was posted. Pay attention to the times.

And this squirrelman713 is also bidding on other totally unrelated items. This has to be the same guy shill bidding on his/her own items.

Stone...sharp eye there. It's either the fastest transaction in ebay history, or a scam. Now, it's gonna take rhpepsi that much longer to put his Ford back together if he has to bid against a shill.

Stonecold, it was "eBay legal" I wondered about. It seemed like a choice auction to me. I have never understood eBay's rule against offering a choice of colors, for example if you have several colors of an object but I know there is a rule against it so would not do it.

I just found these auctions puzzling but they must make sense to the bidders.
