I have a couple pieces that I bought at an estate sale, that I *think* are 'brilliant cut glass' but I am not sure

I've been searching and looking everywhere, then looked on ebay, and wow, the designs mostly all look the same, with the same 'hobstar' on most of them.

And I read on one site, the writer said that 'signed' or marked pieces are not necessarily more valuable, but another site says they are! Most I see that are 'marked' are Libbey, and then some others, but no one shows the actual mark or signature. The only one I've seen is libbey that is laser marked.

What I have there is a raised 'crooked' box in the center of the dish, couldn't read it, but did paper over it, and used pencil on the paper to see if I could transfer it, still! it looks like, A B maybe g, and not even sure about the A B
and some other letters? right below

I have been searching, and reading, but just wanted to know if anyone had more info on brilliant cut or cut glass.

I am really thinking this is some kind of repro from China, but I don't know.

Anyone know how the 'signatures' or marks are done on cut glass?

I do have some pics, but I'll see first if anyone knows more about this type of glass.

Thanks in advance

Company signatures on brilliant period cut glass are acid-etched and would appear on the underside of the item. Hard to see, you have to turn the glass in the light several different ways. They are very subtle. If you have a raised mark on the bottom of your glass, it is more than likely pressed glass. Lots of pressed glass was made in cut glass designs. Hope this is helpful and good luck with the pieces.
